What is Click & Sew?

Is it Software? From reading the posts here it certainly seems like it is. If so, where can I get it?

Yes, and you can edit them with the software.

Yes, That's what I want to get too.

The drawings may leave something to be desired, but I'm thinking that's probably because we're used to seeing models or colorful drawings in pattern books. I'd probably still have to look at pattern books or see a dress I like somewhere and try to copy it because I seem to be lacking in design imagination on my own. But I think it would be worth the purchase.

I was thinking of asking for it for Christmas too. But with my daughter outgorwing EVERYTHING she owns, I don't think the need will last till Christmas.

I guess that answers my question about whether the upcoming version is that much better than the current one .

I haven't even looked at the kids' patterns. Wish I'd known about them when the 12 y.o. was small.

That's what I told her, and since she is my friend I am even sending her my old Click and Sew Program that I don't need since I bought the FULL PMB program (on sale at a price lower than I would have gotten if I had traded in the PMB program at fittingtips.com, thankyouverymuch), and so to start with it is costing her absolutely ZIP.

And I do appreciate it very much! Sounds to me as if it's probably just going to be a loan of the program. If it's anywhere as good as you guys have been saying it is, I'll be getting the PMB program for Christmas . (And, since I've been watching for negative comments about the program and haven't read any yet . . .)

Good thing it didn't even exist, so there's nothing to have regrets about, eh?

I've got a negative. I must say that it makes great fitted stuff for me, but casual stuff is the pits. I wrote to the programers and they told me that it most likely wouldn't work for me. In casual stuff the back shoulder seam goes up from neck about at a 30 degree angle, maybe even 45 degrees. This they say is to balance out my bust. I got mad and gave up, although I probably could make a set of fake measurements that wouldn't give me a big front dart. It is the fact that they rotate the whole bust dart into the armhole that causes the back seam to go so high to balance the front. I sure don't like that.

I do teach a pant fitting class at the sewing store in town, and use Click and Sew patterns. Each person buys a copy. I teach them what each button,/measurement does to the program. I have only had one person that I couldn't get Click and Sew to make a pant pattern for them.

Well, phooey! I do need fitted stuff, so that's a plus. But I would also like to be able to make lots of casual stuff too.

That sounds promising, as I gave up on making pants years ago and plan to give it another try sometime down the road. Do you recall why the one person couldn't get the C&S pants pattern to work for her?

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm glad you posted this. But are you saying you'd make T-shirts from patterns from the "big 4," or is the regular top you referred to from PMB, and you'd just make adjustments some way?

T-shirts are a staple around here, and I want/need to make several soon--for the kid and for myself. I dont want fitted T-shirts, though.

really there is nothing to explain. The problem happens with my set of measurements. I have square shoulders to start with, and the way they draft the casual clothing, makes the shoulder seams to up way high in back. It makes big wings of fabric at back armhole. This probably doesn't happen for lots of people, in fact they say it rarely does. I mostly got mad that they told me they couldn't fit me. That is a fact. Like I said I could probably make a fake set of measures, but I have other programs that work better for non fitted stuff, so I didn't bother.

Um, let's just say that now that I have PMB I am rehoming all of my old patterns. LOL

I can still make a T-shirt-looking garment from the casual top pattern (yep, I can use it) with darts and it fits tons better on me than a knit top from anywhere else.

You can just use the regular top styles made from a knit.

Melinda, who has to find that @$)(*@&#$)@&#$)@#$) C&S pattern to get it in the mail

I have been lurking for a while, again, and found this post. I was very disappointed with my Click and Sew pattern too. Click and Sew is different, as I understand it, from Pattern Master Boutique as it is for separate items such as one pattern for pants (which I bought), one for jackets, etc. Pattern Master Boutique is a group of all the patterns together. My negative was with the pants. I have a sway back and the front "rise" was too long. Not only that, but there is a box that you check as to how "full" your abdomen is, for those of us who can't put a toy car on our bellies and "race" it. :) What is meant by "full"? Two inches out from the ribcage, one inch....?

I gave up and bought a Sure Fit Designs Pants Kit (at a much lower price!) and found those pants fit me just fine! In fact, I liked it so much I bought the Dress Kit and the Shirt Kit.

Hmm, did you ever write them and get help on it? I know exactly how to fix both of those problems because of what they have said about how the program works.

Even though I had trouble with casual styles in Click and sew, I find it hard to believe that anyone would have trouble with kids stuff. (Unless the kid is really large.) Kids are so straight.

What problems did you have with the Martha Pullen pattern? maybe we could help
