Ah, I do that a lot these days. Now that both kids are grown and gone, and with families of their own,I still cook things like soups, stews and casseroles etc. in the same quantities, then package half for the freezer before they even go to table, just in case a certain dh finds that his eyes are bigger than his stomach. Earlier this year, I had to buy some more freezer containers, all my existing ones were already full, but it is like having money in the bank, knowing that if I have had a busy day or don't feel well or didn't make it to the shops, there are still plenty of good meals in the freezer.

Hope it was a good day, BTW. Oh, and you shouldn't need Alan to install the program for you, just stick the disc in the slot and follow the on screen instructions.

Having installed and had a good look at TM4, I have noticed (!) some significant differences between it and V3...

There is a HUGE PDF user guide with all the stuff about how to use and edit the patterns (128 pages!), and a nice 'Sewing Help' guide with all the general construction notes on how to put the garments together (68 pages). Having looke at this one briefly, I'd still advise a good tailoring manual if you want to make a classic man's tailored jacket. I have yet to explore the pattern software sufficiently to see if it will generate things like the internal canvas chest pieces. I may have to do those by taking the basic pattern pieces and editing them. It does generate facings.

When I do the suit project, I'll diary the whole thing, from design sketches right through to sewing on the final buttons! :) I'll do the same for the mountain jacket.

First step: getting Alan to stand still long enough to take his measurements! ;)

No, but some of us have a reaction to seeing the little red laser dot on our precious persons. Uh huh. Duck and cover.
