Hi,
I am new to the world of sewing. Which practical sewing magazines would you recommend?
If only one? or two?
Thank you,
Lucia

So much depends on what type of sewing you are going to do.

Ummm, OP was asking about "magazines", not "machines".
Lucia, since you're using googlemail there's no way to know where in the world you *are*, and that likely will influence people's advice.

G'day Lucia
You need to give us an idea of what type of sewing you have in mind, but for me it's Janome all the way. I have four of their machines right now and just love their stitch quality, not to mention the fabulous buttonholes that are super simple to make.
Not sure if this helps? BTW, I'm NOT affiliated with Janome in any way, just a satisfied customer who has owned this make for the last 30 years.
Br> Hi,
Oooopppsss!!! is right. Sorry for the faux pas, need to change my glasses don't I? LOL
Strange as it seems, at the very time I replied to that message I was opening some sewing magazines that just arrived from the US. They were Janome Digests that I'm collecting.
BTW...if anyone has Janome Digests they no longer need, I've still got a few gaps to fill and willing to buy plus pay for postage.

I apologize, I realize now that I should have given more information.... I wish to learn garment sewing in preparation for retirement. I am taking a basic sewing class in New York City
Thanks a lot,
Lucia
The two I'm aware of that a lot of people really seem to like are Threads and Burda . Threads would probably be better for a beginner. Threads has more informational/instructional content, while Burda is a kind of fashion magazine that includes patterns for every fashion featured.
I forgot about another one: Sew News .
