white serger superlock help

Hi!

I just bought my first serger, a used white superlock 503. It was in working condition when I bought it at a garage sale, and after a little cleaning, it zoomed along quite happily with a basic stitch. However, it didn't come with a manual!

Anyone have one? Or know where I can get one? I emailed the customer service at white.com but havn't gotten a reply yet. I've figured out how to thread it, and adjust the tension a bit to get the basic stitch working right, but I want more!

How do I do a rolled hem? It's a three-thread serger. There's a dial one the lower left, inside the cover that goes from 1 to 5. It's set on 3 right now. What does it do? Anything else about this machine I should know?

Thanks so much for any help!!!

Mary, the dial that goes from 1-5 is the stitch length. For other type works, you'll need the appropriate foot to do what you want; rolled edges, cording foot, etc... have fun! Bill
