Winding Bobbin Singer 237

We pulled this Singer 237 out of mothballs and had it overhauled but we cannot figure out how to wind bobbins. There is a metal tab to the right of where the bobbin goes. What is the path of the thread from the spool onto the bobbin HELP!

I ordered a manual but it's obviously not ready for download yet and we want to use it today or tomorrow.

Thanks!!!

Alan

Hi Pam,

I didn't find anything either and that manual we ordered and paid for hasn't come yet and I bet we will have to wait till Monday.

I never touched a sewing machine in my life but I may have done what you said, I don't know names of things, because it might have worked. The bobbins wound neatly and quickly.

Thanks,

Alan

Irene, I looked and so did Pam. How did you find this link?

What the diagram shows, and I guess what Pam said, is what I did. It's a good thing you sent the link though because without it we might not be able to get the bobbin back.

Isn't Usenet incredible? I've been using it for almost 20 years..yikes!

Thanks so much, Alan

Hi Alan,

I collect and repair vintage machines (and happen to have a 237 in my collection), so I've known about the SewUSA web site for a long time. That's how I know about the threading link...they have pages and pages devoted to threading diagrams for many machine makes and models, and have been on line for several years.
