In an earlier post pertaining to unmounted or mounted stamps, a poster said, "I used to do the Velcro thing." What is "the Velcro thing"?
That would have been me.
You can use heavy-duty, sticky=backed Velcro (available by the yard at sewing stores) to attach unmounted stamps to wooden (or other) mounts. Cut the Velcro to the size/approx shape of the stamp; affix one side to the mount, the other to the rubber. When you want to use the stamp, just fasten it to the block - the Velcro provides both adhesion and cushion. Use Velcro scraps stuck to sheets of cardstock to store the UMs in a three-ring binder.
There's a commercial version of this mounting system called HALOS which some people swear by, but I'm cheap. (-;
