The 615U is an awesome machine and very hard to find; you're the only other person I know to have one!

They are all metal, gear driven (no belts) machines with a boatload of built in stitches. It will be REAL hard to find a manual for it; I haven't found one yet. =20

=46rom what I've learned about them they were made in Japan for sale at = US military bases during the early 60s; that's one of the reason they are hard to find. Many didn't make it back to the US. There is also a 605U and a 620U; one requires cams for all the stitches, the other is straight-stitch only.

They are very similar to the 600 Touch & Sew, so the manual for that machine will work for you for the most part. Biggest difference is the

615U is not a Touch & Sew, as it does not have the wind in place bobbin; rather the 615U uses class 66 bobbins, and the bobbin winder is on the top. Also they have dropping feed dogs - something the Touch & Sew models do not have! THey are definite keepers in my book! YOu can see pics of my 615U on my webshots album.

If you decided you don't want yours....just let me know LOL
