I bought one of these butane glue guns for my wife a few years ago.. sort of a joke because I figured that for $10 it must be a POS... WRONG! She liked it so much that we bought several more for gifts...

It heats almost instantly, cools fast, doesn't need an outlet near it, etc.. Check it out... a great tool for the money, IMO.....

Hot melt glue comes is some different grades, from slightly better than the low tack masking tape on up to good packaging grade. Takes more heat for some. Of course the butane gun solves the same problem my butane soldering iron does, that of finding yourself a foot beyond the reach of the cord when you have to work something.

I bought one a couple years ago and stuck it in a drawer. On your recommendation I will try to find it to see how well it works.

Right... and we found that more types of sticks are available in the larger diameter that this one takes... She bought everything from "general purpose" and "quick set" to "calking"....

Ya might like it! I tried a couple of her electric ones in the past and hated them... Slow to heat, drippy, glue cools too fast, etc... I do use this one though...

I just sent him the ones that were posted to ABPW, I think..

Not to worry, my wife is building our web site and putting lots of pictures on it, while I'm struggling to build the Baja Woodcraft site.... Hard to get enthused about building your own web site when you spend time working on your clients pages.. *sigh*
