Sh-t happens

I had almost finished roughing out the inside of this turning (prior to scraping the tool marks and taking the wall thickness down to 3mm) when....

The large "tenon" on the base was the result of finding a major check in the wood during initial shaping, otherwise it would have been deeper. Oh, well...! Graham

Yeah, yesterday was one of those days. I told the wife, "If everyday was like today, I would quit turning." Stupid mistakes, lathe would not stay balanced and things like that. But there is always Monday ;-) .
