free yarn?

I haven't been keeping up well enough to know if anyone has posted this already, but thought that twice is better than not at all.

Thank you Sarah! I only popped on for a half a second while Matthew was on the phone, and I saw your post. I'm all signed up and my free yarn should be on it's way to me soon. :o)

Peace! Gemini

Thanks for posting that link Sarah. I just love freebies. I've been doing a lot of work with that kind of yarn; eyelashes and furries, so it will be a nice thing to get, Marie and the cats

Could this be why we are having trouble getting Disco from Bernat? They gave it all away!!!

Roger.

But they don't accept P. O. Box addresses, so I can't request it.

What is it companies have against P. O. Boxes?

I'm losing out on a (small) rebate on a DVD because of this too. And the stoopiest thing is, you've got to send the rebate request

*to* a P. O. Box!

Is it a popular yarn, Roger? I confess, I had never heard of it until I saw the give-away.

I agree with you, Nyssa. What I did, in the line for address, I put my street address followed immeditely by my P.O. BOx. I hope that works.

But thay may not deliver by mail - FedEx/UPS can't deliver to PO boxes.

I wonder if we will all get the same color or different colors...

Since PO boxes are usually leased by the month, they cannot be considered "valid" addresses for marketing purposes. Free offers are often used as a ploy to compile lists of addresses with similar tastes/interest and then sold to other companies that deal in the same types of product.

We'll have to post our colors when we get them.

Okay Gem - I have a question for you.... how did you get around their foolishness about no P.O. Box numbers? I guess they just don't understand that even in the rural areas some of us just don't have/use a "rural" address. My mail does not get delivered to NW 1/4-16-14-2W. I mean, REALLY. My mail is delivered to a post office box. So - I lied and put R.R. 1. Good thing the postmaster knows who I am.... she'll just stick in my P.O. BOX!! Heck, I've had mail reach me with just my first name and the town name. Maybe I'll write Bernat and give them a lesson in mail delivery. (Snicker)

I can't see it being economically sound to hand deliver 1 ball of yarn when gas prices are so ridiculous right now. I fudged my P.O. Box address, thinking it was coming by mail. We'll see if I ever get it (laugh)

I intend to complain to Bernat about it and we'll see what kind of a reply I receive.

Hi,

I'll let you know what color I received. I saw the ad in the new issue of East Crochet and went online to request it.

I wish you luck, Katherine, but usually they'll see the box number and toss the request. At least that's what they've done with rebates I've sent in for.

My P. O. Box is in a different town than my street now, so that two-fer addressing option isn't open to me anymore.

Contests are getting to be the same way. Having a P. O. Box automatically disqualifies you as it's "against the rules" for some unknown reason. Like if you actually won something, you couldn't arrange for UPS delivery then.

I think UPS/FedEx delivery would cost more than US postage for a

50g ball of yarn.

Even so, that wouldn't explain the anti-box rebate problem since I doubt that a rebate house would be sending out checks via FedEx.

Nyssa, who will just have to fondle the yarn she already has
