I was bad today

I went to one of my favorite yarn stores on my lunch hour today. It was just an impulse. I walked out with a sack of yarn that was on deep discount. *sigh* I gotta not do that! :-D I got two full bags of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino at $15 per bag, 3 balls of sock yarn on clearance for $2.00 per ball and a full bag of Sirdar Country Style DK that's a lovely shade of blue for $15. She's trying to unload some older merchandise and she found just the right customer. lol. I'm going back on Saturday to get some more of the Country Style DK yarn for my niece's birthday. She's a poor college student who loves to knit but doesn't have spare money for yarn. So, I'm hoping they'll stll have the full bags when I get there Saturday. I'll probably pick up some more sock yarn, too.

I'm pretty darn psyched to make something now, though. I apparently don't have enough projects to keep me occupied. ahem.

Gee, I wish I could be so bad!!! Seriously, I have too much at the moment, but my mind changes too fast. I'll get it done, but I need to do the baby one first!

True, true, but the first hurdle is to get the bag of yarn in the house without my husband noticing....lol

Heh, I have not yet begun to approach SABLE - stash acquisition beyond life expectancy - stage yet. I tend to buy yarn with projects in mind. Doesn't matter that I generally don't get to said projects for at least a year

I'm wondering if there's something wrong with me. I went into one of my not-so-local yarn shops - any shop that takes a half-hour drive on the freeway to get to ain't local - this past week, and I walked out with only the needles I went in to get. What's wrong with me????

Nothing is wrong with you. You decided not to buy any thing you do not at present need, thus saving your money for the day when you DO need some yarn, by which time anything you bought today will probably be out of style.

Actually, I was kind of pressed for time and didn't have long to look around. I was keeping my eyes open for some DK weight washable wool for a sweater for my 7-year-old niece, but they only had one ball of pink out and didn't have any more in back. If I can't find anything locally I'll just order online. This isn't an urgent matter, more of a "what a neat aunt" type of thing :-)

I have been known to walk into a yarn shop, spend about an hour looking around, then leave without buying a single thing. My impulse purchases tend to be on the order of enough sock yarn for one pair so I'm not exactly breaking the bank when I do that.
