Just a quick note

Hi!

I read that there are several chain letters with threads going on on the =

group. I ask you all please to count me out of these projects. I don=C2=B4t like chain letters of any kind and I am not sure that I will= =20 forward one to anybody else if I receive one. Please respect this wish.

Thank you all for your time in reading this message,

Anna Maria

That's okay. As I understand it, it's like the 6x6, you have to opt in. If you don't sign up for it, it doesn't come to you.

Hi Tamar!

I am not referring to the thread exchange managed, if I remember=20 correct, by Norma. There you have to opt in. This a letter you receive WITHOUT ASKING for it. If some people in this group likes it, fine, no problem. I beg to differ. I don=B4t like it and it would put me in the imbarassing= =20 situation of sending it back.

Thanks again,

Anna Maria

Anna Maria, While it is annoying to receive an email you didn't request or want, I just ignore them and delete them; if it is a software-generated for of spam, sending it back acknowledges that one address was real. I personally don't recall seeing anything that appeared to originate from this NG. Just my 2 pennies.

Hi Carey!

Don=B4t step back! :-) I was referring to a snail mail, not to a email.

I don=B4t want to make a big fuss about all this, since some people likes= =20 this project. I just ask to keep me out, that=B4s all.

Hugs,

Anna Maria

Hi, Anna Maria: I just re-read your first post: should have done that before I hit "SEND." Flying fingers, ya' know. (I usually lurk more quietly, at least, most the time.) Probably someone mislabeled an envelope. For me, if it were not from someone I recognized, I would *probably* just toss it; might depend on my mood that day. I think you asked very nicely to be excluded.

OK before we go any further, Anna is correct in assuming, that there are "Snailmail letter doing the rounds. One of us started this friendly letter of sharing some buttons, bits of yarn, beads, etc, all having to do with textile related crafts. When you receive this letter, you take some of the items you like, or can use, out of the care package, and add some of your own, and send it on to someone else in the group. I was the recipiant of one of these letters yesterday. I think Anna, that is what you are talking about, correct. I have received this kind of letter twice, and if I do get one again, I will also not sent it on. It become exspensive to mail out again, so twice was enough.I think that it is totally harmless, and kind of nice to share these small gifts. I do not think that is falls in the same catagory as a chain letter.

Thanks Anna, to let us know how you feel about this. I am sure the people who are involved with this exchange will take your wishes in account.

I don't think so either. And Els, as for having received 2 envelopes, what that tells me is that the people who sent them to you like you very much, and thought you might enjoy the fun of it (me being one of them). Unfortunately, it isn't cheap to send mail from Canada anymore, as the Canada Post Corporation must think we're all rich.

Maybe we should start a list of people who would like to receive one of the "progressive" thread envelopes???

Hello Mirjam, I think that most of us do like the letters you started. I did.

However I thought it a good idea to let people know that two exchanges are enough for me, not because I do not like it, they brought smiles to my face both times, but more because it is very exspensive to mail them along.

Well , you all know that i live at the OTHER end of the world , and post from here ,,,, but still i like to send posts to people, But if people are reluctant about recieving posts , let them write it here, It is very well accepted . Ps the thread exchange i have found very reasonable in price ,,, in fact my post clerck [ very well trained by me] asked me the other day , if i send Holy land Air abroad ???? as the threads are so light . mirjam

Anna Maria - I get chain letters form time to time but none of them seem to come from this group and since, like you, I am not interested in chain letters I just delete them god Bless Gwen

I received one of those letters... actually a packet... along with my two 6x6 squares a few months ago. That worked out fine to send it along to my next 6x6 partner, because I was going to have to mail the squares anyway. Would people object to having a packet along with their 6x6 squares? Actually, now with the thread exchange and the square exchange, I wouldn't really want it to get out of hand and receive LOTS of these packets. Two a month (thread and square, with accompanying packet or not) would be enough for me, but I would enjoy it in that format (2 mailings only per month). Let's keep it simple? I don't know anyone's snail mail addresses except for the people with whom I have already exchanged squares and threads, anyway. Kira
