I turn a lot of my leftovers into sweaters, hats, scarves, and mittens for kids. It uses up lots of very nice but smallish amounts, lets me play with all sorts of color patterns and combinations, answers the minor design questions, and helps keep kids warm. I have never known a teacher, school administrator, or member of the clergy who doesn't know who needs what. Occasionally I get buried in leftovers from friends, of course, and if it's just way too much I pack up a lot and get it to a local senior citizens center, where the elderly also make things for kids, and lots of smallish afghans and lap robes. One of the administrators told me that there are quite a few seniors who love to work with yarn but often can't afford to buy it, so they are very pleased with the treasure troves.

I am very glad to hear that you share your materials or fruit of you labour with others. =46rom what i read on our kind of groups that is what many crafters do. And i am also very glad that i can first use my own leftovers from other projects for me and for my collegues. As long as it doesn`t get thrown away. The art many of us create [ alot from left overs] makes many people either glad from looking at it ,.or brings over Human ideas. mirjam
