OT: the future King and future Princess Consort.... aka Charles and Camilla

Wondering what my UK friends have to say about all this!! I had to LOL about Camilla NEVER 'being' "Queen", at best she can 'be' the "Princess Consort"... which.. hit me as oh-so-funny... as I think of her AS the PRINCE's 'consort'!!!!

I'll tell you how I think, ... If Charles had stayed true to Diana, she would be still alive today. This said, he never did love her, so he shouldn't have married her. How could he go to church and swear on oathe to love Diana, when he was having an affair with Camilla...so being brought up never to trust a liar, how can I believe he would be telling the truth when he says he'll be true as a King of our Country.....

Best off lett> > Wondering what my UK friends have to say about all this!!

Cher - well said !! Just to day I said to Frank that as much as I have been a Royalist all my life I now say " Bring on the republic" ! I have nothing against divorsees re marrying but I have a lot against having an afair before , during and after a previous marriage. Were I Camilla I would hope he does not hasten to find someone to fill the vacancy she leaves behind by becoming his wife - how she can find it in herself to trust him is beyond me.God Bless Gwen

LOL ..... I do think however that Charles was pushed into a marriage by his father, or someone like this, who felt that he needed an heir, before time ran out. Diana, was from noble blood, already a Lady in her own right, so it made sense.

I believe Camilla is suited to Charles, they are both liars and cheats, as she knew too that he was married to Diana, and she should have put her foot down on their relationship, but she didnt.

Too many bosses at the 'palace' they do as they are told ... look at Fergie... and what happened to her. OK she did things wrong, but that was no way to treat her, they chucked her out like she was a piece of dirt, and that just isn't family etique is it? She idolises her husband too.. I'd like to think these two got back together.

Going back to Diana, I don't believe she ever had an eating disorder, I believe she was just terribly heartbroken, and to think she'd been gullable and let a man violate her body just for an heir, when she had believed he loved her..

I can't quite forgive him for that. I know the media are saying that the Palace issued a statement saying that the boys are thrilled for their dad........but I wonder.....they must surely remember the heartache their mother went through.... maybe not, and it isn't their fight after all.

oh well...not up to me to judge...just seems all false to me.

cheers....cher

Cher, I could agree more - and I do not see how I could ever respect either of them in the role they are now aspiring to. ( and let no one kid me that Canillia has not got her eyes on the crown !!) God Bless Gwen

Oh the people, being people, and many of them two faced will all turn out to hail the happy pair, and if it goes wrong, they'll all turn out to take sides...LOL that is the way of people..

True, Charles has only ever had one love, and possibly true he didn't have much of a say in how or what or when or whom he married first time around.

However this doesn't alter the fact that the first deceitful act of aquiring an heir to the throne has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Of course it has happened all down through the centuries, but this time it affects me, it's my country, and I just feel I too have been lied to. this fairytale first time marriage, ok, we didn't expect it all to be a bed of roses, but I don't think many of us expected him to go to the alter and lie, when he was seeing Camilla ...or camelian, as alot of us call her...they change their colours don't they? well he was seeing the camelian even on the eve of his wedding to Diana, I wonder what they were talking about... It must have been the end of the world to Diana, then only a young girl, and in love with her Prince. No wonder she had eating problems, she had her babies to think about, an their future didn't include her, if he divorced her, which he did....can't imagine anything worse....I'm no prude, I've been divorced too, so I know all there is to know about that one, just that neither of us married on a pretence of caring for each other, in the first place.

As far as I am concerned, Charles took an oath in Church, and was lying through his teeth, now he wants to be head of the Church...what on earth is it all coming to..

This is it for me, too. I cannot abide with someone who would take such a serious vow under false pretenses. It was a lie to God, the church, his wife, his family and his people. If someone can do that, unrepentantly, to people so close, to his God, I don't trust them in politics.

Well my beef with it all is basically, he lied, and to the church, to God, etc etc....then expects to become King, and thus head of the Church of England.....sorry no can do in my book...lol Nobody is perfect, if we were we wouldn't be here to learn these lessons, but some people just take the flipping biscuit....

I've never liked him much anyway and I remember when he married Diana, and the thoughts then were, how on earth did he manage to win the heart of this beautiful girl, but I guess being young she was gullable. When things became apparent to her, that his affair had not only been going on since her marriage, but also never stopped, she came forward and spoke out...and why not, she was the injured party, and yes she did have affairs herself, but only after he did, not before...anyway...we each of us have our own views on this, and each of us are entitled to them. I don't think everyone should agree with me or anything like this.. I just hope he never becomes King.

Cheers......Cher x

Cher I also wish he would stay home ! I have never begrudged the taxpayer funded trips of Royalty to our shores - after all they do generate income for the nations via tourism etc etc and were doing a good job anyway but having to pay got Charles to visit next month beggars belief in my book for all the reasons you have stated, Cher.

I am just glad that i do not pay income tax anymore, otherwise I would be voicing my opinion about it to anyone I could think of - on either sides of Government. God Bless gwen

He does an awful lot for charity as well, and I wouldn't want their job, racing about all over the globe ... going off who knows where and no sooner touching down is whisked off again somewhere else.

Not for me, and I'd also hate the fact that I couldn't do anything for myself, couldn't think for myself, go out when I chose, must be a bit like prison, and I'd definately hate not being able to come on here and talk to my friends.....or maybe some of them do....Is there a Queenie on here?????? Used to be didn't there? Imagine the Queen being on here as say, Betty....lol Queen Betty...or Queen B. or something, we wouldn't know would we?? Can you imagine signing up for the 6x6 and getting her as a partner....LOL.

Shame she hasn't got time to knit or crochet....anyone know if she ever learnt and did any craft work....

Church...what

I don't know for certain but given her age and the fact she was a Guide I think it pretty likely that she did learn to knit or crochet or some other form of craft work.

The Queen has done embroidery. I have seen pictures of her putting stitches in an important tapestry. Cannot remember where it was. It was said that she did embroider. Shirley

She also knows how to knit, thanks to her mother, good Scotswoman that she was :) There are pictures of the Queen, and Princess margaret as children knitting with their mother on what look like socks for soldiers during WWII.

And for the record, HM can also change a tire and strip an engine She was in a motor pool during the war and learned all about the inner workings of the automobile. Her father once complained that "For a week all we've heard about are spark plugs!"

A few years ago it was her turn to host the reunion of her wartime company, and she did so, and reportedly had a terrific time with her old comrades.
