In reading the comments, I had concluded she was at Walter Reed. I go there also sometimes and I think the care there is just the best in the world. And not only do they repair bodies they help mend the souls and spirits.

I was at the prosthetics clinic in October, thankfully only to be fitted for shoe inserts. But in the waiting room, I was the only patient with all the extremities! And the laughter and jokes and spirit of those young military [not just Army] was awesome. The limbs with they are provided are incredible. One soldier told me had lost his leg in April [2005] and the week before he had run 5 miles.

6 months to back on his feet [well foot plus one]

several years ago I was at the same clinic and almost felt embarrassed because I was all complete. But the guys there that day were all swapping stories, like they time in a shoe store when the salesperson went to take off that shoe and their reaction....

What wonderful spirit the injured get back there through the love of the staff and the visitors and the volunteers. It is beyond belief that in a few years that building will be empty of all that history in the name of 'economies of government' via the BRAC

please wish her well for me and my rpayers are with her. Tell that a USAF retiree says

Hooah

for her and that she WILL be back up and about before anybody realizes.
