Pineapple Teacosy Pattern

Ages and Ages absolutely yonks ago, someone on here asked about a pattern for a teacosy that when finished looked like a pineapple. Not that this gonna help much, but I did say I would look, well I've looked and looked, just one more box up in the shed to go through, and I just know I have it somewhere......but to let whoever it is know that I've still not found it...LOL I know .... lot of good this is......lol

But I'm trying.......some say I'm very trying......ROFL...

Back to the search...hugs.....Cher

Oh cool. I wasn't around when that request comes in, but it sounds very pretty. When you find it, could I possibly get a copy too please?

of course you can, as I remember it, it was in one of those bazaar books, yellowish orange, knitted X cross type of pattern, then the top drew up with a tie string or crocheted string/chain, and then there were knitted green leaves... If I can't find it, I'll see if I can make one, is'nt it annoying when you KNOW you've got something, and don't know where to locate it?

Probably a blackberry stitch pattern, in the main part ...cos it was raised lumps....\LOL.

I love the whole idea of tea cozies. There's something so ... cozy about them. I think they make great gifts. Maybe along with a nice teapot. I too, will watch for further from you regarding this pineapple one. JaneB

it should work ok, but I've not got a pattern for these cosies, I just cast on enough stitches for one side of the pot, stitches divideable by five, plus one extra at each end, then change the colours over with the first and last stitch and of course every five stitches this gives a rippled rib effect if you keep the yarn taught but not too tight...swapping colours will give you a chequered effect too. Do as long as you need then dec at the top every alt row, keeping your orig patt correct thus, K2tog K1 K2tog...keeping the colour co-ordination knit the next row back then K2tog on next row Knit next row back, K2 tog on next row, Knit row back, and cut yarns, thread up a large eyed needle with the cut offs and thread through stitches, doanother piece the same, then sew up leaving handle and spout gaps, add a pom pom or two and some twisted yarn...done.....Use more than two colours if you like, so that all the rib effects are different...easy.. lol....cher

Hey Cher, is that a "poodle" toilet paper cover there in yellow? I've made them in a lot of different colors to sell at craft sales, but I've also given a lot away as gifts for someone just moving to a new home... a wedding shower, etc. Unfortunately unless you've been into the bathroom of the recipient you usually have to ask what color it is so you can match. ;o)

From what I remember of making them, yes they are quick and easy. I haven't made one in years though... my pattern books are still in a box somewhere.

But then... so is our youngest dog's Kong toy. Poor baby... he has TONS of other toys, but you can bet when we finally find the Kong again that will become his favorite one for a long time. Well, that and his stuffed Santa Claus which he carries to the window to look outside. It's sooo cute, but he thinks he's ferocious you know. LOL

OMG Gem, lol, my dogs are like this, they have one toy that is yonks old, well as old as Chaz and he's 8yrs old, the times I've stitched it up lol, but it's the fav of all, and I'm darned if I can find another one the same, it's a white hippo, soft toy with a now missing squeaker, which I removed the last time it broke...lol

The toilet tissue holder is just two oblongs one that goes around the roll, another smaller one that goes around a spare inner tube, then two oblongs for ears, a large pom pom for the top of the head, one for nose, tail and four feet...two button eyes the inner tube once covered is sewn to the top of the bigger one, to form the head.......done...lol

When I was in junior high school I got a bug to make loo roll holders for everyone... I used a very cute pattern which was a ladies hat. Pretty thing, there's probably a pattern around somewhere for one, I haven't seen mine in years, in fact have no idea where I got it. I think I got loo roll holders out of my system as I haven't made any since! I pass it along as an idea.
