Sue CD ~ spiral socks pattern

I haven't seen Sue Carlson-Dunn in *forever*, and first wondered if anyone has heard from her. Secondly, I need to make a heeless *hurry-up* pair of tube-socks, and LOST the url to Sue's pattern... anyone have it? Hugs, Noreen

Couldn't find the socks, though.

If you write her, please give her my love,

Heel-less tube-socks usually have a little spiral in the pattern - it's just a tube of ribbing that is done offset by one stitch in every round - I think it's 2x2 ribbing or that would just make seed stitch, right? When it's long enough, you make a toe. Cast on enough stitches for the yarn you're using to get a gauge for the ribbing that will open to go over the heel and pull in to be snug on the foot. The idea shows up in print back to before 1900 at least. The toe can be a round toe if you want to spread out the wear on the location the heel lands in, or a flat toe if you prefer that shape.

Hi Noreen,

I haven't heard from Sue either, but I did keep her spiral sock pattern and here's the website for them. I made the 2 needle ones and love them.
