Hi, Noreen! I watched it like a hawk! Well, as hawk-like as one can be while ripping out seven rows of Mohair at 300+ stitches per row. Stupid pattern was wrong.

Quite a twist on the Eko story, I thought. Having been raised a strict Roman Catholic, I have to say I was screaming at the screen "oh no you aren't!" when he said yes after Charlie asked him if he was a priest. Phenomenal acting job by the actor playing Eko, though. I did have a squick moment when he was drooling while crying over the corpse. Ew.

I liked the look in Michael's eyes toward the end of the episode. I've grown tired of the whole "WALT! WALT! THEY TOOK MY SON!" angle. He was like a chicken with its head cut off. Maybe now they'll give him a bit of direction, since it appears the computer told him where to look. (1)

My husband swears the Black Smoke contained images of people in it. I can't say that I saw that, but I will say that my eyesight is terrible, and I'm willing to believe ANYTHING where this show is concerned.

Claire was far too judgemental of Charlie. She'd been staying with him for days and days after he started carrying the statue, and now suddenly she doesn't trust him? Interesting that Charlie's been hoarding the statues...

Kinda giggled a bit when the new Tailie psychiatrist started giving interesting looks Hurley's way. The former assylum inmate hooking up with the shrink?

Overall, I liked the background story, but the rest of the island plot was pretty weak: no real progression with Walt/Michael, there was a teaser back in November regarding the countdown timer running out with no one there that apparently was dropped, Sawyer and Kate's Styling Salon was just silly, and no Sayid. --who's off to alt.tv.lost to see what they're saying about it there. Willing to bet they hated it; they always do.

  1. I'm not totally convinced the person at the other end of the conversation was actually Walt. What pre-teen actually uses punctuation in computer conversations?
  2. Naveen Andrews is my weekly eye candy. At least until the new Colin Farrell movie comes out. ;-)

Is it a discussion on LOST country ??? the most interesting place on earth , where we can find all the LOST items we ever lost in life ??? mirjam

No, Mirjam, it's a television show in America that is a huge hit. Very confusing, but engaging plot. Sorry if we didn't make that clear.

Anastasia

--who is now wondering if Mirjam may have been right with the "all the ... items we ever lost in life" part, as regards the show....hmmm.....wonder if that's the island's purpose....

I love it. The thing I *don't* like is that they give summaries too often. It seems to me that they are cutting down on the number of new shows that way. I'd like to know who is on the other end of the computer, or if there is anyone there. I wonder if Michael is losing it.

It's about a TV show (that I have never watched), Mirjam. However, you have me very interested in what you wrote. Where exactly is this Lost Country where we can find all the lost items we ever lost in life? Does this really happen, or is it just speculation? Now I am very curious!

I *loved* the movie The Wizard of Oz! :o) Every spring it would come on TV and I would be glued to it. You could see the "Oh God, not again!" look on my Dad's face... but he sat patiently and watched it too. :o)

Yeah, me too. Ick, ick, ick. Here's one thing that bummed me out.... when Eko and Charlie were reciting the 23rd Psalm near the end of the episode, this time they got it right on the line "yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death".. that's not what he said in the preview before the big Xmas break. Eko said "though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death"......

Here I am - me too, me too. I really got tired of the constant caterwauling. Shut up and get yourself a plan.

Wow - I tape the show for hubby to watch ont he weekend, so of course, I'll be watching that part like a hawk. This was one of the better parts of the show.

Welllllllllll...... there was heroin in the statue, and now she knows that. I don't blame her. I wouldn't want a recovering drug addict who carries drugs around, to be near my young baby either.

Yeah, so is he constantly tempting himself to see how strong he can be, or is he having a snort now and then to feel good? I'm not fond of his character..... they can kill him off anytime.

If she's desperate maybe. They should've put Jorge Garcia on a diet at the beginning of the show....

out with no one there that

No, it wasn't.... that was in the last (?) show before the break.... Locke had a bit of a problem keying in the number sequence correctly, but got it done in time, just as the counter showed all zeros, but then was reset. I had to go back and rewatch my tape to get that one.

Sawyer and Kate's Styling Salon was just silly, Yep, it was - and it was just a time waster. Bleah

I guess he's going to be in bad shape for a while with the loss of Shannon, but I agree with you - he's good eye candy.

yeah - I read four or five sites and a couple of boards, just to pick up little facts I've missed while viewing.

You're probably right - and after all, they were told NOT to use the computer for anything else but entering the code! I hope they don't drag out further episodes with more time wasting stuff. I wasn't all that impressed with it last night. ;>(

No, they got it wrong again last night. "Yea, though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death" was what they said. Your brain was probably "reading ahead," since it's so well-known. I was listening for the mistake, and sure enough, it was there. They also forgot the "with thy rod and thy staff" part.

Well, he was kind of tweaking out there for awhile when he was fishing with Jin. The character was really only interesting from a plot point of view when he was on the stuff. It's kind of sad when an actor can only portray a convincing drug addict with any true conviction. I think he'll be the next to go, and that will give Claire some guilt to work with, in order to make HER more interesting.

I found some pictures of the Black Smoke images. Let me know if you want the link to them. Don't want to spoil you!

Also, Jorge Garcia has lost over 30 pounds since the show started. It takes awhile to show when you're that big. He's trying.

Anastasia, for me all Tanach =Bible [ Old testament] , translations are curious, being used to the rhytmus of the Original texts, it is always amazing how they sound in other languages , mirjam

I wish I knew Hebrew. I'm eventually going for a doctorate in linguistics (YEARS away), and languages just enthrall me. It'd be amazing to hear sacred texts from all over the world in the original languages, receiving their messages as purely as possible. There are so many translations into English, I fear we may have lost some of the meaning of the original words.

hehehe When a friend of mine was here one day, she played the Anne Murray song "You Needed Me" on the guitar while I was singing it. I reached the line "you even called me friend" and she stopped playing and said "Friend?!?!? All these years I've been thinking she said FRED, and I was wondering why the hell anyone would call Anne Murray, FRED." I was on the floor cracking up laughing.... only Denise would think something like that. LOL
