Knowing full well 2 people will ask what the purpose of this question is, and also knowing full well that one will contradict anything I answer, SPLORT! SO, what IS everybody 'working' on? Noreen and yes, I approved this message, LOL!

I am doing the un-knitting thing. After several years of just sitting there , half knitted, I took apart a vest knitted out of Noro yarn. At the moment I am skeining the yarn on the niddy noddy, to be washed later and hung out to dry. I think I'll ply it with some Merino I spun and make a brand new yarn from it.

But first, it's off to work, Wollhexe

I'm busy with baby things for a friend, who's daughter is having a baby. Am knitting a shawl, and also have a baby coat on the go. Decided that I'd done enough bootees for a while. Oh, and I also have a cloth on the needles, just because it's NOT a baby item. lol Charmaine

Still working on the counted thread embroidery which will be a Christmas gift. I've finished the piece that will be mounted as a lid to a basket and now need to do the small acorn shaped piece that will be tied to the basket.

Also, I have socks on the needles and my NYCO. We leave next week to drive to Colorado so I plan to get a lot done on the NYCO at that time.

Also, I'm in the sock wars tournament so I'll be doing those socks, too.

I finished the baby afghan for which I was hunting down a cone of Denys Brunton magicolour, and have almost finished the coordinating hooded baby jacket. Pictures soon.

A Christmas gift for a friend ( I think she may lurk here so I don't want to spoil the surprise), knitted from Wool-ease. DA

Still spinning froghair.

Finished a bottom-up fake set-in sleeves sweater loosely based on the Shapely Tee/Tank. It's waiting for the dryer to free up so it can have it's 10 minutes of low-heat glory to finish it off, I'll get some pix later today as well as some photos of the Kathmandu that I promised last week and didn't get.

Socks. Always socks.

I'm working out the math for my yarn/gauge for the Rogue pattern. I figure enough time has passed that I can safely knit one now without presenting the appearance of being a lemming :D

Crocheted socks and (don't laugh) coffee cozies. I had a bad experience turning the heel of this sock, so I put it away for three or four weeks. I pulled it out Wednesday night while at a coffee shop with friends (who were all knitting) and decided I'd been over-analyzing the instructions and that I should just take it on faith and MOVE ON. I did, and I'm not sure to this very minute how I succeeded. But succeed I did.

[Perfectionists ought never work with yarn. Never ever. We weird ourselves right out. I want so badly to be one of those Zen fiber people. Instead, I sulk at my projects and kvetch and stress out.]

I'm still playing with denim yarn and various crocheted lace patterns, trying to design the Perfect Curtains (tm) for the new house. I haven't yet decided if this is the path to madness, but it's starting to look like it.

When I decided that I could accept a MISTAKE or even TWO or *gasp* THREE in my handknits my stress level fell off dramatically and my FO count increased.

It takes training but it's possible to just let it go. My test for "perfection" is:

If I'm standing on the ground and you gallop past on the back of a horse, will you notice the mistakes in my sweater?

If the answer is "whatever can you mean? I'm trying to not fall off the horse!" then the sweater passes.

If the answer is "Riding this horse is like strolling in the park and OH my GOD looka the HUGE mistake you've made RIGHT BETWEEN THE BOOBS" then I'll rip it.

And then there's the "if the mistake is so minor that you're invading my personal space to locate and point out the error I have every right to jab you in the eyball with my pointy sticks and then claim self defense when the cops show up."

Isn't "she needed jabbing" a legitimate defense in WilCo?

Hi Noreen

Well, I rushed and made six hats between Monday and Thursday (the consignment store had a rush on my hats!!), then hit the dreaded 'block' and haven't touched a hook since. Also have two fleece hat/scarf sets to do final hand-stitching on for birthday presents for tomorrow morning.

And, as always, working on keeping myself sane and the kidlets under control :D

So, what are *you* working on? :)

Usually I'm a monogamous knitter, but I've got 2 projects going now. I am working on DH's socks and am almost finished with the 2nd of the pair, and I started the Sienna Cardigan in Interweave Knits Fall 06 yesterday. I'm using Elan's Peruvian Uros Aran (llama/woo 50/50). It is looking great, and I am happy to be using something bigger than size

1 US dpns, for a change. Also, I've been trying to get a 6 inch square made for Christine (sorry, I haven't forgottnen!). I think I've just about got it.

Working on a pair of socks (Noro Silk Garden Lite) on 2 circulars. It's a big-stripe yarn, so one sock is tan shading to purple and the other is tan shading to green. I had to go to the LYS today to get some more yarn for the toes and heels, and ended up bringing back some more big-stripe yarn (Classic Elite Desert, I think) for a moebius scarf. I get anxious if I don't have a project ready to go when I finish the current one, LOL!
