What do you do? *with beads*

I mainly do peyote stitch lighter cases.

Also:

*brick earrings *peyote covered anything (keychains, pens, etc) *tried most stitches (ndeble, RAW, loom work, loom beading w/o a loom, chevron stitch, daisy chains, etc) *headpin earrings *been playing w/chain and just hooking thing together and seeing what happens *some stringing *whatever strikes my fancy - mainly japanese seed beads but have a little bit of a lot of different things that may or may not go together (just depends on how my brain's working at the time) *bracelets, earrings, necklaces and if I ever get more time - beaded barrettes (I LOVE how they look but they take A LOT of work)

And always wishing I had more TIME and $$$ to put toward my horrible bead addiction!

What, this space? ^

Or this one... >

I can't wait to see what you do with your new silver hollows. Your bracelets are to die for, the newest one I stole at an absurdly low price on eBay (grin) is ready to be all dressed up with beads. I don't know if I'll give it to my daughter afterwards, I might like it too much!

I like to watch. :-)

Oops, sorry, seriously here...

I like to buy beads from artists so that I can have little treasures in my home and treasures to wear. I like to make jewelry with beads. I like to just open a box of mixed seed beads and look at the way light plays on them. I like to think about making things even if they never see the light of day. I have always loved bright and sparkly things and nothing fills that description better than beads.

And through this group I have learned the fine art of bead enabling. *grin*

I make them. Ten years with Polymer Clay, and 3 months now into Lampworking. I love them, dream about them, make sketches of them, spend WAY too much time looking, fondling and drooling over them, pile them up and aspire to

*do* something with them one day. Oh...and I sell a few too!

I'm planning on getting a doming block and punches for Christmas, and then buying lots of sheet silver and making purdy round beads. First textured, then embellished (right word) with leaves and twigs and all sorts of elvish things. And squiggles. And dots. And twisty wire. So like lampworking really! I'll warn you now girlies, I'll be taking my first inspiration from your lampwork! Actually, this is basically lampwork, but in silver. Does that make sense? Ohh, and I'm going to inlay with copper too! I'll shut up now...

Drool.. those sound incredible!!!! I can picture them, dangling along with some glass.. think of the sparkle potential! Diana

Oh yes.... oh yes. I'm going to sit down with my little sketch book now! I'd like to do some solid ones too from using the lost wax method, but they'd be expensive, well perhaps cheaper than hollow, I haven't figured it out yet! Depends how long it takes me to make the hollows v's the weight of a solid one!

I have a confession, Dawn. Your progress with beads has been so amazing I had suspicions about you. No honest person could learn so much so fast, and we've had trolls before claiming to be new beadmakers, who had been at it for years. I am so very impressed!

I'm proud of you.

I mostly do bead weaving, stringing, and embroidery. I've just started dabbling in bead crochet as well.

The only beads I make are beaded beads, though I'd eventually like to give PMC a shot.

I think my favorite thing to do with beads is acquire vast numbers of them, rock back and forth in my accumulated piles of sparklies, and croon "preciousssssss".

uh..I also make jewelry and dolls and other little random beady things.

No kidding. I'm getting worked to the bone at my new job..I'm racking up scheduled hours and overtime. I'll be getting nice fat paychecks to use on beads, but no time to do anything with them. It's taken me much longer than it should have to finish the wand for the swap. *sobs*

It's a good thing I can sit and do beadwork at my other job..at least one of them gives me time to play with all of my pretties.

Awww, thanks Tina! That really made my day!!! I'm sure my progress with the lampwork has a lot to do with the fact that I had been making the polyclay beads for years. It really has a lot to do with shaping. The difference is learning to use tools in place of my hands for the glass. (And remembering to go pee before starting on a bead that will take an hour! LOL!)

Hehehe, I've an old one you can have somewhere round here...

I bought a new one in the Argos sale, a WIRELESS OPTICAL set! Woo hoo!

Have also come up with some ideas for cool disc pendants. I'll have to scan some of my sketchbook pages and post them here!

Well, it's still attached to the laptop so it's going to be harder to replace than otherwise. :-)

I wish I had the room for that. I do have an optical mouse which I love, a wireless one would be too luxurious.

Can't wait to see them.

I make them (lampwork) and occasionally I wire them into pendants. I tried my hand at designing jewelry with my beads and even though I loved doing it, it took me way to long to finalize a design. So for now, I'll just stick to melting glass. ;)
