LOL - I should send that with the "Pretty Weed" and I have your Hockey Santa chart at home. The Daylily - which is lovely in real life (and thank Donna & I for helping get the border really put in) - isn't back from the printers yet. So to speak.
Just because I'm curious, yesterday I happened to ask SL how long it took her to stitch the Calla Lilies - the chart runs 24 pages long. She said 6 months at night doing nothing else. That sounds about right. I love looking at this framed piece and am happy to have the chance to admire it, but wouldn't ever stitch it myself.
Talk about exhausted - I've fallen asleep, needle in hand twice now. DD is playing next door, catching up with the little boy next door. I drove to and from her camp yesterday (8 + hours including game, lunch, stash stop and traffic and lets not forget bathroom breaks). Today we all got on the funeral clothes and went to my cousin's husband's funeral Mass. DH and DS are now Lake Placid bound.
I started it a couple of years ago and have a space of about 1" x 6" finished in the lower left corner. I'm doing it as a housewarming gift for a friend who I used to work with. She asked if I would stitch something for her (she's paying for chart/supplies) and I had her look through the Hoffman site to find something. Yikes! I considered having her make another choice but I really do like the project. It is over one on 28 count but the chart pages are very clear and easy to follow. I haven't figured out the border stitches - I can't remember what they are but I'll take it to my EGA girls for help when I get to that point. Fortunately, the sale of the property only went through last year and the home approval not until this spring. The road is just beginning to go in and the house plans are not even finalized yet.
I haven't touched it for several months due to a change in schedule (working swing shift now) and "issues" with my hand due to the repetitive nature of the new job. I'm hoping to find an office job one of these days so that the inflammation in my hand will calm down and I'll be able to stitch in the evenings. It is convenient being able to commute to work with DH but I've begun to really hate the job. I can't quit until I find a replacement so I spend time every morning checking for local office jobs. Typing doesn't bother my hands at all and I've been told that I have a good phone voice so I'm thinking that a receptionist/office clerk would be ideal. Somewhere where hearing protection, safety glasses, speed, agility and coordination are NOT required. :-)))))))) I manage to work on tabletoppers for a few minutes almost every day but I really miss the "regular" stitching. :-)))
Thanks for listening to the mini-vent. :-) I know there are plenty of people who are worse off, but that doesn't make me feel much better when I get up in the morning & can't close my hand for another two or three hours. :-)
Wow - that's some planning ahead for your stitching! WRT the border - I'm sure it's not anything very complicated - really. You should have no problem with it. And if you do - well you know people that know the designer well....tee hee.
