O/T It's a Boy

well it only seems like a few weeks since I was on here telling you all about my pregnancy. I am half way through now and had another scan at the hospital yesterday to check on development. The doctor was also able to show us that the bump is a boy!

I have mixed feelings about another son - we have a boy of 5 and a daughter of 2.5 already. A girl would have been much easier in terms of space and sharing rooms and so on, but a healthy baby is what's important and we appear to have one of those. My 5 year old has also been saying from the start that he wants to be the only boy in the house so we now have 20 weeks to prepare him for the fact he'll have a brother as well as a sister.

And it does make choosing fabrics for a baby quilt easier!!

Congratulations!

There's enough of a gap that if they are very different it won't matter, and if they like the same things, the gap is still small enough that they'll manage.

Morag unless you undergo the testing, don't believe the scan :)

We were told our DD was a boy after one of my sonograms...and boy were we surprised when 'she' came out instead of 'he' - esp. the doctor!

I have 4 boys and they seemed easier then girls. The down side is once they are grown the leave the nest and seem to settle down by the wife's family nest.

Tell him that now he is more important that ever! Being the BIG brother to a LITTLE brother is one of the most important jobs in the world! He will have to teach him about all the cool things boys get to do!

Congrats... and best wishes for a continued healthy pregnancy!
