OT a book just for fun

This book won't expand, inspire, motivate or educate; might not even keep you awake. If you'd like a book to read just for the happy of it, find Baby, Oh Baby by Robin Wells. There's a chapter with a wronged wife getting spectacular revenge that you'll enjoy reading twice. You can skip the sex if you already know how. This is a good read. Want to recommend a book to us? I finally started reading Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Quilt Novels.....yeah I know, I'm coming a little late to the party! I love 'em...they're an easy, relatively stress free, engaging read...and they involve quilting!!

My wheelchair repairman gave me a book called "The Eight." I don't know the author right now, but so far I'm very intrigued. If you like chess, it's a definite must. I'm only about 60 pages in. It goes back and forth between France in the 1700's and New York in the 1970's.

I think one of my all time favorites was "Exodus" by Leon Uris; I read it many times. It's been awhile, maybe I'll revisit it again sometime soon. I remember being into MM Kaye's historical novels at one time as well.

I love books! Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver,

Jennifer is addicting. I have also discovered two authors that are wonderful. I was drawn in to Wanda Brumstetter when I stumbled upon her book "The Quiters Daughter" book 2 of a 3 book series. Her books are Amish based and of course take place in Lancaster Co. PA and Northern Ohio. The other author is Beverly Lewis and her books are also Amish based. Both authors have Amish roots and they are well researched.

I have really enjoyed reading all of the recomendations and have added several to my list of "To Do's".

Some years ago I received what I think was a joke (!?!) about a woman whose powerful husband forced her out of their house. During her last evening in residence she ate a pound of shrimp and then inserted the shells and tails into the drapery rods of her beloved home. When her ex and his new lady friend moved in, they found the smell unbearable. Naturally, they sold the house and moved. But they took the drapes and rods with them.................

I thought that sounded like such sweet revenge......

If you like Wandd Brunstetter and Beverly Lewis, you should also try When the heart cries, and When the morning comes, by Cindy Woodsmall. I didn't think I would like them, but really loved them and am waiting for the next sequel.

Also, if you are a Jennifer Chiaverini fan, we got her new book, the Quilters Kitchen, at the library day. It's one of the smaller ones, but I always enjoy her books.
