OT Chocolate Brownies

Hey Everyone:

Haven't been on here in a while. My adventures today took me to Louisiana to look at the Juki 98 E and Q sewing machines. I am in the mood to purchase one for my Hinty quilt frame. On the way back home I stopped at our pastry shop. It's name is Paul's Pastry. They were about a quarter mile from me but moved into a new location about 3 miles away. I can't smell the bread baking at 4 a.m. anymore. Sniff, Sniff.

They now have a coffee shop in their new location. OK, I was hungry for something chocolate. I found the brownies. They're very tiny, only 1 1/2 inches by 2 inches. Well the muncher that I am I ordered 6 to take home along with a cup of coffee.

OH MY I am in heaven. The brownies were slathered with fudge frosting, thick frosting. I dug into the brownies about an hour ago. Only ate one and half. Oh are they rich and gooey. I put the rest in the refrigerator. It's going to take me about a week to eat the rest because of the richness.

Wish you were here. Hey Polly want me to bring some on Sunday to the quilt show.

Silver Bells - also known as - Hershey's Kisses. Chocolate, my dear. It is very difficult to peel their foil wrapping and actually get them on the brownies. Three out of every four is a good goal. The fourth one disappears - as well as the others unless you are tenacious about the project. Never ask for help. No one can be trusted. Polly

LOL! Must be a "Southern Thing"! I thought that's what you meant. Polly, I must tell you that you can buy UNWRAPPED Hershey Kisses in the baking section! I bought them one year, hoping to make peanut butter kisses for Christmas. Never got the cookies made, but a few months into the next year, I found them in the cupboard. Well, I just couldn't let them go to waste, could I?!

You may want to look at the Janome 1600 line.About the same as the Juki and a separate bobbin winder and thread cutter.I just bought and picked up my

1600P-DBX for $699.I paid $44 for the feed cover plate/darning foot combo.I have the regular Hinty frame and it fits good on there.

Howdy!

Hershey's toffee chips-- o!m!g! Several bags have entered the house, only 1/4 of a bag made it into some cookies. If they'd make some M&M's w/ toffee bits inside I'm sure I'd quilt even more than I do now; M&Ms *are* the ideal Quilter's Candy. ;-D

Ragmop/Sandy-- noting that the chocolate eyeballs are pretty good, too

Hi, Polly, It's about 3 hours from here to Hattiesburg. I would probably consider it if we weren't going to a quilt show in Shreveport on Saturday. Y'all have fun and spend some money there for me. LOL

I have never heard them called Silver Bells but that is an excellent name for them. My mother would have us buy up Hershey Kisses after each holiday and halloween when they would be on sell, and she would put them in the freezer. When she passed away I didn't think I would ever get them all eaten, took me close to a year, but every now and then I go look in one of the freezers thinking I just might find another package. No such luck, we ate them all, and we is not me upside down either, it was dad and me, which equals we.

Anyway after halloween this year I think I will buy some for the freezer. Being diabetic those are just the prefect size for that chocolate craving you get everyone once in a while.

Silver bells well I am going to buy some autumn bells. :)
