OT: Great idea for digital camera

I was just reading a great idea for a way to help an honest person return your lost digital camera to you. Write out an index card with "If lost return to" and your contact information. Even just an email or cellphone number, if you're leery about putting your address on there. Take a picture of the index card, and lock the photo so it's always on your camera even when you erase your photos.

Won't protect you from the dishonest, but if you're lucky enough to have someone honest find it, you just might get your camera (and photos, which are more valuable!) back.

Kathy: Also, I suggest a photo of owner, as a way to ID the person when she/he picks up the camera from the finder. I lost my camera this weekend and didn't even know it had fallen out of the car. I got it back because the finder noticed the name/address label I'd fixed to the cameral shell. The person who found it is a County Firefighter, so I showed up with a dozen assorted doughnuts for the crew. PAT, happy to have the camera in Virginia

A few years back, we had BOTH our cameras stolen, one returned and destroyed beyond repair, from our suitcases. We had 2 layovers, so we don't know which 'airport' had the dishonest folk. Yes, we had name and addy on each.

Butterfly (Why put one back after they destroyed it, I don't have a clue)
