One of my employees was in a tizzy about the "end of the world" this morning. I had to explain that nature is pretty darned good at high energy physics, these collisions have happened from cosmic rays a million times over and we're still here. I also told him he could check this site

Howdy!

Kathy, I'm concerned about the quality of your employee intelligence pool. This guy thinks it's gonna' be the End of the World and he comes to work?!!!?

Btw, if they do create a black hole we'll all get to see RobertaZ's scrap pile. ;-D

Cheers! R/Sandy

He's been with us long enough to know that even if the world ends, he still needs to get his work done first. Death by black hole is strictly on his own time. *evil grin*

fascinating, thanks for the reminder, Amy. well the black hole did not evenuate today but from that link says something about waiting another month to be sure. 'First collisions at high energy are expected about a month later with the first results from the experiments soon after.'

i guess we've all got to figure out what to do when/if we disappear down a black hole. i might just wear all my stash all that week to be sure i d> Have you all watched the news lately? This is the coolest thing. i
