OT: It's my birthday!

It's my birthday the big 40!!!!! Actually, so far doesn't seem too bad, but hey, we're only a few hours in!!!!!

My in-laws were listening, and bought me a book for my pressure cooker, so I've no excuses now! DH must have told them that I was cowering in the kitchen when it was on..... Have a new raincoat from my parents, good timing, because it is raining!!!! Also, have other pressies to look forward to tonight from DH and DDs.

I'm teaching this afternoon, so have just gathered my bits, and I don't start for another couple of hours, so I'm going to go and do some sewing.....sshhhh, don't say it too loud, otherwise something else will crop up.

So far a great day, I had a card from one of my best friends in the UK, we started school together, awe, and she is getting married later this year to a guy in Australia, so exciting. As she said she is 40 this year and she is about to move to the other side of the World and start a new life. They met on the internet, via a mutual friend, and they've been visiting each other for about 4 years now. It is so exciting. We're thinking that this year, might be the year that we go house hunting, mind you it depends on the bank.........hey, we can dream....

Love to anyone else who shares my birthday. I did make a chocolate cake for my birthday on the weekend, but it only lasted a day.....but it was good. I'll have to visit our French Patisserie this afternoon and find another naughty cake....what an excuse.....

Have a lovely day, Janner. Yes, it does feel as though it is a landmark; but I think I remember it as not being so bad >gg< . In message , Janner writes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!

Turning forty wasn't as bad or traumatic as everyone builds it up to be. To me, I had the hardest time when I turned 29 LOL, I went numb in the brain when I had to state my age... I would have to do the math ... I was 21 when my oldest was born and he is 8 now, so that makes me OH, I'm 29.... but 30 came, my world didn't fall apart, my body didn't fall apart...and I could remember how old I was....

Now 45... hehehehe, is when the bod is showing signs of wear, and it's scary when you hear yourself saying things like "when I was your age..." to people not MUCH younger than yourself... and remembering things like those nasty old Candies plastic slip-on high heels, Jordache,& Sasoon jeans, Gunne Sax dresses and feather earrings.(like they were in style just last week!)

I never dreamed I would get to that stage or age.

Lordy, Lordy, Janner's 40!

LOL, happy birthday -- 40's just the beginning. I've been so much happier since turning 40 than I ever was before. I think the older we get the more we appreciate life and the things that really matter.

Sunny -- wishing for some of that fancy cake ;)

40 was no big deal for me. I had started telling people I was 40 almost a year before, because if you say you're 39, no one believes you. :)

Not sure about LIVING people who share your Birthday, but January 19, 2009 was the 200th anniversary of the birth of Edgar Allen Poe .... who once lived about 12 miles from here!

Celebrate all year long! PAT in VA/USA
