OT Kinda ... Addiction

Hey out there:

I just turned my TV on for some noice and that afternoon talk show is on. Subject addiction transferance.

I found out from this talk show I NEED HELP. I have an addiction and when I feel the urge to follow through on this addiction I should call on friends to help me through these feelings.

Apparently anything you do in excess is an addiction. I am in dire need of your help. Please hold me back, keep me on the right path to do housework, cooking, washing clothes, doing everything that is proper and above board. aka The Martha Stewart Syndrome.

Please hold me back from going into my quilt room and quilting with my new Brother SM and my Hinty quilting frame. Force me to not findle fabric more than once a week. Please talk me out of dreaming of yet another quilt. Please help.

I AM ADDICTED TO QUILTING. My world is imploding around me as I write this. Help me. Help me.

I have soooo many addictions according to this- "things" I do in excess! (Who defines what "excess" means???) Dogs, chocolate, fabric, quilting, reading, eating, planting flowers, email, building houses (LOL), and on and on. Know what? Each one makes me very happy- I have no intention of giving up or even cutting back on any of them- not never. So there television program!

:-P~~~~~~~~~~

Kate, just do what makes you happy. As long as you don't hurt any one and don't put your family in the poorhouse it's all good.

Kate, you are *truly* in need of help if you think we're going to encourage you to do housework when you could be playing with your fabric! LOL

Well just transfer your addiction from watching talk shows to fondling fabric and you're done!

Nope. Not gonna' happen. I think it's much more important that you give up afternoon talk shows than quilting.

Swap over to the movie channels; they're showing Halloween movies back-to-back for the next week. This morning I stitched Minkee blankies and sort of watched Alien Ants Eat Los Angeles. Plenty of noise and they didn't stir my conscience one bit about addiction. Polly

Seems to me an addiction to doing everything right and proper, and performing an excessive amount of housework in a day, is a worse addiction than quilting!

indeed!

anyway.. it has been proven that a too clean environment leads to allergies and kids getting ill faster so by having my quilting addiction I am being a

On a vaguely related (to Martha Stewart) matter -

has anyone peeked in the new edition of Debrett's

I am assuming that it is something of interest primarily to our British cousins, but as an officer I had occassion to refer to the "old" Debrett's when I had to attend a Vice Regal reception. I just wondered how updated the new one really is.

As I had access to the book I spent some time browsing through it. Some of the issues addressed were both interesting and helpful, but some . . . . . For instance, it was quite facinating to read about the order of precedence for presentation at the Court of St James - irrelevant to me, but facinating lol. I am curious to know what new gems they have for excrutiatingly correct behaviour.

Kate, it would appear that you are asking advice that can't be found here. Have you heard of the statement, "The blind leading the blind." How can someone with the same addiction help someone with that addiction??!! HeeHee Just turn the channel. LOL Marlys in Indiana
