Last night, DS bit DD because she was playing with cars of his - that he had let her play with earlier in the evening. He is now grounded for 2 weeks, among other punishments. He just asked me if he could play with his rescue heroes..nope, those are toys....he is allowed to read, color, write, use his LeapPad, and his learning microscope, but that's it..no television, now fun games on the computer (NOT internet capable, these are learning games with other activities).
However.....in light of the fact that the schools are closed and there is at least 3 inches of snow everywhere, DS, DD, and I went outside for over an hour this morning. They had a blast!!! Of course, that was after the chaos of getting them into layers (DS had on stretchy pants from his Batman costume because he couldn't find his long johns, jeans, tshirt, sweatshirt, snow pants, jacket, hat glove, snow boots....DD had: tights, socks, sweatpants, undershirt, sweatshirt, snowsuit, boots, gloves mittens, hat...I got creative since I have no snow pants: thermal tights, long underwear pants, double thick socks, jeans, thermal tinkerbell shirt, black tinkerbell tshirt, coat good to -25 degrees, plus knit hat, fleece scarf, and sub-zero gloves)
Ahhh,....what fun!! they had snowball fights, made snow angels, and totally trashed the deck and patio that I had cleaned off....but they were outside having fun. I, on the other hand, was shoveling the driveway, sidewalk, deck and patio (2x on those last 2!). But they got fresh air!!
And *I* am feeling more recharged and ready to get creative in the sewing room!! WooHooooooo...this is a big thing for me as I have been dealing with a creative block for about a month now, only working on projects because they were promised. The next "promised" project got started, but then I ran out of fusible bias, so I just ordered it yesterday from Keepsake Quilting (NAYY)..hopefully it will be here by this weekend and I can get back into the groove....oh, and of course, I also ordered some fabric, a couple of patterns that will be made for presents, and....well, way more than I should have. Saved some things for next month or later in the year...but since some are clearance, have to check and get them ordered before they run out!!
