OT: More watery woes

We just found out what probably caused our septic tank to fill to the top and stop functioning:

The main water line under our foundation is broken.

Yes, this as bad as it sounds. Yes, life is miserable in our house right now -- no water, no showers, minimal toilet use.....etc. And if our home warranty doesn't cover the cost of repairs, this one could be the straw that breaks our camel's back.

I'm not going to be online much the next few days. I'm trying to stay away from the house. And when I'm here I am tired and trying to rest. So, prayers and good wishes to those who need it. Happy dances with those who finish projects. And generally hugs and smiles all around at the whole "gang".

I'll be back in a few days.

Gosh, how awful, Sunny! I really hope that it's all fixed soon -- at the expense of your warranty, rather than from your personal savings.

Warranty will cover a tiny, minimal amount of the bill for this disaster.

This is one of those times when it feels like a train has hit us, backed up and hit us again, and is now backing up to have another go. The big expenses just keep coming with no end in sight. I suppose most people our age (50 to be exact) have a decent "nest egg" to fall back on. Truth is I was always a stay at home mom, husband worked as a reporter/editor -- which is notoriously low paying, and just when I had begun to earn a good living and build us up I was hit with a disease that has knocked me out of work permanently. We don't have a nest egg. I'm just hoping we can manage to hang onto our nest. Feel pretty scary sometimes. I wish I could join the r anks of those who make money with their quilting. Even an occasional sale would be good. Maybe someday.

In the meantime, is there a saint who brings money when you pray t o them? If so, I'll pull both $20 bills out of our fluid savings and go buy that saint so I can pray to him/her all the time.

Hugs to all from a worried and sleepless quilter Sunny

Sympathy headed your way, along with lots of positive thoughts. Don't know any saints, but if you can identify exactly what you need, step by step, it sometimes helps to say it aloud in the form of a polite request to the flock of angels who are always at your command. And remember to thank them politely when they come through for you. Identifying your need in a very specific way is not as easy as you might think! Roberta in D
