OT MOther's Day Greetings

Sending good wishes to everyone who is commemorating Mother's Day. Enjoy yourself with some chocolate, a good book, fabric, and of course your memories and family and friends. That's how I intend to mark the day. I'm happy to be a Mom, and I'm happy I had such a lovely Mom!

I will join in a Happy Mother's day to all Mom's. Was hoping to get to Tucson to see my Mom, but I am too wiped from the last couple of days to make the drive down and back by myself. (DH was just "kidnapped" and taken down to Casa Grande for the last day of a science fiction convention..... I wasn't up for that even. ) Taught an all day class yesterday, did a one hour class this morning, scheduled a few more months of classes, did a bit of shopping for a class sample and am tuckered out. Of course the heat isn't helping any.

Thanks, Pat -- and many happy wishes right back at you! I've had the chocolate already. I'm starving while we wait to go out to eat with DD#2 and her family, and chocolate seemed a good idea. I'm hoping for the fabric part later today -- I think I'll make a block to donate to our circle's charity project. :)

I had a great Mother's Day with DD. We did the 5k walk for the Komen Race for the Cure in suburban Minneapolis, MN. There were about 50,000 people participating in the event; it's the 2nd largest Komen Race for the Cure in the U.S. We've done it on Mother's Day 7 of the last 8 years

-- missed it last year because her baby was due a few days later. As a survivor for almost 8 years, it is quite moving to see all those survivors and their friends and family. There was one woman who is a

62-year survivor. The forecast for this morning was rain, but it stopped well before race time. It was cold and windy, but at least sunny and dry. All in all, a great day.
