OT: New Grand-baby!!!

My daughters just came over for a visit. The one that was married in May came up for a short visit before they have to dig in and get jobs and such. My older daughter informed me during their visit that she is pregnant!!!!! Grand-baby #2. She ask me if I was happy for her and of course I am thrilled for her and Nick. She is always afraid that someone is going to give her a hard time since her husband has a disability. With her first (my granddaughter emily) she got quite a bit of negative response from her MIL. They are choosing not to tell her MIL until they absolutely have to. She is hoping she will be at least 7 mos along or so before MIL finds out. (not a good relationship with the 'kids' and the MIL. I sometimes thinks the only positive parental response is from Me. She was not expecting this pregnancy but is ok with it for now... While I am thrilled!! It was so nice to see both my daughters and granddaughter today. I don't get to see any of them that often and I miss them so much. Now that the youngest (sarah) is living in Arkansas, I don't think I will get to see her again before The holiday season and that is dependent on so many things if they will be able to be here or not. So for today I have set aside the quilt I have been working on and just bask in the nice times of the afternoon. juliasb

Your daughter sounds like a very strong woman, raised by a very strong woman. I will send good thoughts your way. Congratulations on grand baby #2.

THAT sounds like a good plan! :) Bask away! Oh, and work in a little chocolate to celebrate, too! :)

Gently trimmed...

They sound like a grand couple. They have more riches in their relationship than most of us can hope for. The bottom line is that this is THEIR decision, and no-one else has the right to interfere.

Sounds like his mother needs re-educating!

Best of luck to the two of them - they are already doing better than a lot of couple who do not have a disability to contend with!

You might point out to MIL that every person alive has some kind of disability (and if you're feeling rude, add that you'd rather have Nick's than hers! Nick's might be easier to treat.) Congrats on the new grandbaby! Roberta in D

Congratulations on baby #2 that has no risk of inheriting an accidental injury by the way. It is great that your daughter and the children/hubby have family that is supportive. Keep it up and hug them a lot. It is better that way. Jeanbaby
