OT Off to Florida for a few days

Son number two will be married on Sunday. The bride and groom decided on an immediate family only wedding in Key Largo, Florida near the bride's parents and brother. We will fly to Florida early Friday morning and return late Monday night. It will be a quick but fun trip. The entire family is staying at the same place and the wedding will be on the beach.

Son number one was married in February so this has been a busy year for us. Both sons opted for informal weddings. My friends think this is really funny because I used to work for a bride's magazine and staged rather elaborate events for the magazine photos.

My sister is coming to my home to stay with Mom while we are gone. They will protect the stash.

Be good while I am gone.

LOL. I didn't know you were a Bride's magazine person in your former life - it's a hoot that neither son is having a 'production'. That's really funny. I hope you're packing cotton underwear. Your destination is about as humid as they come. Congratulations to all. Have a lovely, wonderful trip. Polly

DH and I made a couple of trips to the keys and Key Largo, it is certainly one fun and weird place! Don't miss the sunset celebration on the pier at night, and do bring light weight cotton clothing and lots of bug spray --- and as Polly would say, watch out for gators!

DD's wedding was an immediate family and bride/groom's close friends only, totalling about 25, and people said it was the most enjoyable wedding they had been to!

At the lunch afterwards we all sat round one large table in a private room, and it was much more intimate and relaxed than the usual individual tables where people don't know each other - everyone knew everyone by the end. The hotel employed a retired couple just for small family groups like weddings (and funerals!) which made the meal service much more personal too.

After the lunch we all went our separate ways for a few hours, and in the evening those who were still around went out for an Indian meal - very laid back and the end to a perfect day.
