OT: Unless Chocolate makes it On topic!!

I tried a new recipe tonight... for Molten Chocolate Cake.

It was SO DELICIOUS... DECADENT! (It should with 3 sticks of butter, 10 oz of baking chocolate and 3 cups powdered sugar! Oh yeah... and 6 whole eggs and 6 egg yolks!)

I had purchased some silicon bakeware - - little individual mini bundt cakes just for this recipe. The recipe said to cook at 450 for about 5 minutes... but that clearly wasn't long enough. Will try the other half of the recipe tomorrow night for maybe 8 or 9. So they didn't pop out of the pan "nice and pretty" -- but regardless, with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream...

I'm in Chocolate heaven.

they are the ones in the picture. Have you ever used the silicon bakeware? Does it normally take longer to cook than recipes call for that are written for traditional metal/glass bakeware?

I'm willing to keep practicing... I just may need to buy new clothes if I want to get dressed cuz at this rate I will quickly outgrow what I have!

I had disasterous results with my first baking attempt with silicone bakeware also, Kate. I attributed it to the fact that I didn't allow the cakes to cool completely before removing them from the bakeware. I followed the same recipe on my next attempt, allowed everything to cool completely and everything turned out fine! I have also found that adding an extra five minutes onto the suggested cooking time works with silicone bakeware too. HTH.
