This is not something I can drive inside the house, Mom. This is a 49cc motorcycle that goes up to 40 m.p.h. I solemnly promise to always wear my helmet except when putting around at the campground. Helmet time includes putting around in the neighborhood, country roads, and state parks, no matter how calm and quiet. I'm a believer in helmets. And I got my class L permit this morning. I won't need a license for the campground, but for the street I will have to take a driving test. I promise to be very careful.

I had a Honda 50cc step through when I was in college. I loved buzzing around on that thing! Yes, I wore a helmet....most of the time. I'm sure there were a few times I didn't. I sold it when I got pregnant with our first child. Sure wish I had it now!!!

We have a GoldWing. DH also had a Shadow that was going to be mine, but I decided against getting my license last year, so we sold it. I'm having second thoughts (or maybe third or fourth thoughts!) about it now. It's just so darned much fun!

That is so cool, it reminds me of the little Honda mini trail 50 that my brother got when he was 13 (now 49) and that I bought from him for my son when he was 11 (now 35) and my son still has it. It isn't water cooled and it is a standard foot shift.
