OT - update on Grandson

Thank you to those that sent thoughts and prayers for our grandson that was having open heart surgery back in June.

The latest from his mother is that she has never in his almost 10 years, seen him this active. She says it is like having a different child! He can walk several blocks without being exhausted, he runs short distances, he's allowed to go in the water now so has been at the beach playing (they had to buy him special clothing to wear in the water as he is not to expose his chest to the sun). He says his chest is still sore - they have been told to expect him to complain about it for many more months yet as his ribs will take time to heal.

All fingers are crossed that this good heart health will continue for many years. The docs told them they could hope for somewhere between 2 and 7 years, at which time he will have to have something similar done again. My understanding is that it is to do with how much he will grow in that time frame and how the fix that they just did, grows with him.

Just thought some of you might like to know the outcome.

Yay! It's good to know that what they have done has come on so well. It's a great shame he may face this all again in a few years, but there will be scar tissue, however careful they are, and I have some memory of that not growing as well as 'normal' tissue... Fingers will ramain crossed for his continued well-being, and for this to last as long as possible.

Watch out for him getting naughty! ;) A kid with the energy to get into trouble is doing well! :D

Thank you, Marilyn. Such wonderful, marvelous news Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. I will spare you the pain of figuring out how to put my voice on audio but I am singing the Doxology. A very grateful Polly

That is absolutely wonderful news!! I'll hope for the 7 year span between surgeries. Hummmm.....but growing is a good thing too! I guess I'll leave it in God's hands.......

My favorite hymn- we Lutherans don't use it as a doxology. And so very true....
