I went out and picked 2lbs of blackberries from the hedgerows today. I wish I could send a real slice of blackberry pie to all my quilting friends. So here's a virtual slice of apple and blackberry pie, with home-made butter pastry. Now, do you want cream or custard on that?

I have a large blackberry patch that was just starting to produce, but we had 3 weeks of rain and they all molded and rotted on the bush. No blackberry cobbler for me this year, Thanks for the virtual pie. At least it's calorie free.

Is that home made ice cream hand-cranked with the little kids taking turns sitting on the folded blanket on top of the ice cream freezer? If you used electricity, it is not really home made -- and not near as much fun.

A pie purist? Cool. Much as I love the taste of ice cream or whipped cream (cool whip if you must) a really lovely homemade pie tastes good enough as it is. Anyone have a stray piece of strawberry rhubarb handy? Diana
You can make ice cream with electricity?? Shocking! We tend to make ours with heavy cream, and real vanilla beans. :-) Diana
