Hi Boca Jan!

I have 2 yards of a Michael Miller fabric Patt #C-632 China Doll which is little Oriental girls with parasols and scattered water lilies. I wasn't sure if you needed oriental fabric or something to create bricks. The closest that I can come to the bricks is a brown/tan/cream basket weave pattern by RJR Fashion - Pique Nique and I have only about a quarter yard. You are welcome to either or both.

Now, my dilemna.... last spring I made a number of garnet and gold blocks to make an FSU quilt for an elderly neighbor who is wheelchair confined. He is a big Seminole fan (despite our horrible season!). Today I drove from Tallahassee to Gainesville to buy some Seminole fabric from one of my favorite quilt shops only to discover that they had gone out of business....and I can't find the fabric anywhere on the Internet. Can you assist me with this. Perhaps one of the smaller shops in you area would have some. I could use either the large or small Sammy Seminole head and will need about 5 yards. If you could locate it and advise me of the location I can order it by phone or online.

Any assistance will be so appreciated! Also, please set me know if you want my fabric described above.

Thanks so much!

Sunny,

I put that little bit of fabric in the mail today. Just wanted you to know that. No note just the fabric cause I was trying to hurry and get to the PO before it closed. Have I ever told you all that I have become this person that hates to leave the house? Never in my life have I been this way but since my mother's death and then the fall I had, it has just gotten to where I hate to go out. Agoraphobia has crossed my mind but I don't get scared out or have panic attacks, I just like to be home.

Anyway this fabric has not been washed, so it will need that done to it.

Peter Rabbit, in pastels...not for me but for a quilt comissioned by Mother's boss for her grand-daughter. Have serached online at various shops and can't find what she described to me. Have told Mother that her boss needs to prioritize, and if she wants this done in time for Christmas, she needs to get out and hunt up the fabric herself. I don't htink that will happen, however as this is a person with no concept about what to look for in fabrics (her words, not mine).

If anybody stumbles across any, I would be greatly appreciative....she wants to mix it with a mint green, same as was used in the quilt I made for her daughter a few years ago.

Thanks bunches!

Thank you Jacqueline! And I understand about becoming that person who hates to leave the house. In the years since I was diagnosed with lupus and Sjogren's Syndrome, I fight the urge to spin myself up into a coccoon and stay there. I think it's an emotional response to the loss of security and loss of that illusion of control we all have. One day at a time. Sunny

Mom and I had a similar thing going on with other colors. Mom is solving her problem by buying a whole range of one color that will go with something she already has. She recently picked up a range of neutrals (pale gold through dark tan prints), to go with some florals she already had. She usually buys 2 to 3 yard cuts, in sets of three or four fabrics now.

I've got a whole other problem. My favorite fabrics are large bright novelty prints. I have just about decided to make a brick quilt with them eventually so I am not too worried about them. Bright over-dyes are my next favorite and that is a good thing because they often work well for my applique. Problem is, I have mostly bright colors, so I guess I need to add some darker colors and some neutrals, but I'm not sure what. Debra in VA See my quilts at

I'm just now seeing this post, so I don't know what others are in need of. I figure I'll wait and see likes when I get the directory. I need to purge my stash of stuff I won't use.

you don't happen to have any Peter Rabbit fabric hiding in your stash, do you??

Larisa, thinking that the next time somebody commissions her for a quilt, they had better have all the fabric purchased because I'm tired of hunting for it!!

Larisa, does it have to be specific Peter Rabbit fabric or just any Easter fabric with cute bunnies?

Sunny (suspecting the former but with some fabric to send if it's the latter)

No, she specifically stated "Peter Rabbit - the pastels" GRRRR

Why did she wait until NOvember to start looking for fabric??? She wants it done for Christmas..no way possible with my schedule right now, unless she finds the fabric and gets it to me by middle of next week
