What 'cha lookin' for??

We haven't had one of these threads in a while - and with the holidays approaching and so many new quilters coming out of lurkdom, I thought it was a good time to ask "what 'cha need / what 'cha lookin' for"? I may have some bit of fabric that would be just perfect for a project someone out there is working on - as many of us probably do. So.... speak up!!

Wow, what a great thread! I need funky images on fabric. Like those things that you might fussy cut. I really like weird. Bugs, birds, flowers, cars, icons, cartoon characters, equipment..... you name it. Or maybe something that's just a normal pattern all over -- like paisley. I love paisley and would really like to have a bunch of 4" or larger pieces of paisleys (did I spell that right?)

I can offer in kind. I have one piece of fabric that has sewing notions on it. This is an older piece of fabric and I don't think you would find on the market right now. I have enough to share five 6" squares. And I may have something else that somebody needs. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

What fun!

I am not looking for anything. I am NOT. I am definitely not!

I am on a fabric diet.

I do not need more fabric.

I have enough fabric (gasp!!!) for five lifetimes.

I am not looking for anything.

But if anyone should happen across a piece of warm coloured (maybe brown or red) fabric with a copper metallic pattern, swapping isn't really "buying" fabric is it? I mean - not REALLY.

I am making an etui and I have one copper fabric, and I would like to find a contrasting one. I actually found five on Equilter, but I WILL NOT buy fabric this month. (whimper - hope it's still there in a couple of weeks!)

Seriously, I am not looking for anything but I will read and see if I can help out anyone who is.

I sent a message off to the Time Lords asking them to transfer four hours of my afternoon (that I absolutley did not use at all) to you. As I am in front of you by so many hours there should be enough time for them to lengthen your day by at least a little bit.

Don't thank me - it's the very least I could do for a fellow quilter lol

I am looking for some hard to find narrow striped fabric. The stripes are dark and light blue. Bev in TX

I'm always looking for plumbing related fabric, from toilets to privies ideally. I don't know if there ever has been such an animal but if it ever exists, I want some.

I like a wider variety of fabrics, from purples to batiks to Civil War repro to stuff suited for crazy quilts, but that's a like and not a Need.

This isn't fabric but I found it when I did a search for outhouse on quiltshops.com. Unique to say the least! lol

Not *yet* fabric, perhaps, Georg! But, if you really want some, get a plumbers' catalogue, photograph what you want, and then do some transferring from the photographs to fabric. I've seen this done more and more - and I love the results. . In message , Georg writes

I could beg Da for jpgs of his lecture, couple it with the scanned in pics I have collected of plumbing through history and make Da one heck of a nifty quilt... ;) Yes, my Da has a slideshow/humorous lecture on the passing of the backhouse... started by his Da. I think all of us are lucky to not be named after plumbing luminaries like Thomas Crapper or Sir John Harrington.

I love the outhouse sewing kit! Very clever.

I am looking for a scarecrow about 3" or taller. I want to make a city wall-hanging next year and we have a scarecrow festival in Oct.

Thanks. Debra in Idaho
