A few more Christmas cards

I bought a pack of paper at the Dollar Tree discount store and one of the patterns looked like little silvergrey teabag tiles, so I cut a sheet up and had a play?

I finally had a chance to look at all the Xmas cards you've been making... I really like that each is different. You have an amazing imagination! I love what you did with the folding on the 2nd tea bag card.

I've found some nice things at DollarTree lately too.

Your cards turned out very nice. I like that you recycle some too.

That tbag fold is really simple... I always thought they were more complicated than that until I saw somebody else's instructions. (some of them ARE much more complicated origami... but this is about as basic as you can get.)

  1. Cut eight squares of paper with the same picture/pattern on them.
  2. Fold the piece in half in the direction you want to be vertical, to make a crease line.
  3. Open it out and fold it in half in the opposite direction, then open it out again.
  4. Fold two corners in to the center for the top points.
  5. Fold the bottom two corners into the center as well.
  6. Fold the bottom two corners in half again, like you were making a paper aeroplane. This is your basic 'kite' shape for your piece.
  7. Fold seven more squares the same as the first :)
  8. Open out the final fold on ONE SIDE of each tile, then glue the tiles together in a circle so they overlap. Glue the folded side of one on top of the unfolded side of the next and so on.
  9. Decorate the center of your tile however you want... I used a small sticker raised up on a popdot.
