We live on top of a steep hill right in the middle of town. Our drive is like an alley. The people living at the other end of the block use it to leave their house - They come in from the back and out our front - no big deal, but lots of people think it is a public alley and drive up here to look around. You can see all the way across town from here. We put those funny looking green men from Step2 with the orange flags that say Slow - to let people know there are kids up here (especially because of the daycare). One morning my DH went out to leave for work and the green men were gone. I couldn't believe it - they were filled with 50 pound bags of sand and spiled into the ground with 10" spikes. MY DH feels like he is on display for all to see when he is out in the yard. We put up white picket fence around the back yard - down the length of the hill,on one side then put up 6' board ffence from there to block most of the view of the pool, the rest is chain so now one side is semi private, At least on the hill no one can stop and talk to you unless they want to stand and shout. LMAO Cleo. I think the scratching the armpits and woofing would do it!! We can't put anything in our front yard either. I have had two chairs (kinda expensive) and various decorations stolen. And yeah, don't it just tick you off when people pick your flowers?

Okay, I have finished my altered tin....a little early, yeah I know. But I wanted to get it done as it is for my DH for our anniversary at the end of the month. It didn't turn out quite the way I saw it in my head. But the little book I made to go in there turned out better than I saw in my head!!! All I'll tell is I made the front and back out of polymer clay.........the pictures will go up when the time is right.....

Ooooooh...sounds cool Kenda!!! Can't wait to see the finished challenge......waaaaah, I wanna see 'cos I'm impatient!!!! I have done my tin but can't make up my mind what I am going to put in there yet...LOL Too many ideas goin' on in my head and I have sinus infection that is blurrying up my thought processes. I already changed my mind three times on the March challenge....ROFL I am printing my pictures now though so I think I am sorta fixed on what way I am going :o)

I don't get why anyone would even assume it was okay to walk into someones yard and take their flowers.

Can you put up a sign at the end of the driveway to let people know it's a private driveway to keep them out?

I've done two tins and know what's going in mine. Just have to get off my duff and do them.

LOL....know what you mean Cleo. I often find myself spending too much time thinking and not enough time doing!!!! Marilyn

You know and I've found more than one person doing it too. It's seems so strange to me. I'd never walk into a stangers yard and pick flowers. I was taught that you might get your backside full of lead doing something like that.

Cleo, I love the gate and wooden furniture. Your DH is very talented!

You are so bad...teasing everyone! BTW, I am glad that everyone seems to be having such fun with this challenge! Please though, as you all finish your challenges, don't forget to send them to me. I would hate to get them all together. I can promise that I won't put the page up either! I'm already a little behind with the webstuff!

Thanks,

I enjoyed making it Marily, but like I said the tin didn't turn out the way I "saw" it....I'd hopped for something a little "flasheir" but then again it is for DH and he's not all into the "frilly" type thing......
