Baby Album Finally Finished

I finally finished the baby album for my DD - in time for the baby shower. I didn't want to overwhelm anyone, but I did go ahead and post all the pages (24) in my webshots account in the Baby Album. I also included a photo of the diaper cake I made for the shower. DD wanted an album which would also double for the traditional baby book. I scraplifted lots of ideas from the other members of the group - Karen in particular. I was so glad she posted her baby albums. This album really gave me a boost. I'm over half way to my 2006 goal to average one LO a week. 22 of the 24 pages were made in 2006.

Sandy, you did beautiful work on the Baby Album. Your DD will love it. I always think it must be so difficult to make an album without the pictures. I would never be able to do that! The cake is too cute! Love the teddy :) Have a wonderful stork party and let us know what she says :) TFS

PS: Congrats on being halfway to achieving your goal for 2006!

The album's GORGEOUS! And those ideas you got from me, I got from ladies on another scrapbooking group and here... the more who use them the merrier! That baby quote was on a sticker sheet I got at the Dollar Tree - I thought it was beautiful too...

With the page you have to change the name - how about using the middle three holes for her name and putting a large decorative brad on either side?

You're album is really great Sandy. You did a wonderful job. I really like the idea of making a scrapbook for the baby album. You're daughter will treasure it always. I have never seen a diaper cake. When I read it I thought it was actually a cake that looked like a diaper. Then when I looked at the picture I have to admit. I'm silly. I kept looking at it thinking. That doesn't look like a diaper. Duh. It's made out of diapers. What a neat idea. I wish I knew someone having a baby to use that idea on. It is soooo cute. You are very creative. Thanks so much for sharing.

It's precious Sandy! I love the colors in the maternity pages. You really outdid yourself. It really makes me want to go back and redo my kiddos baby pics, but it's not going to happen. LOL Tomorrow is the duedate! I'll be sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear when the little one is born.

Wow Sandy, what a beautiful album, your DD must have been stunned - did she know about it or what is a surprise? Definately wish I had had something as precious when my kids where little - love the layouts you have used and the wonderful colour schemes. TFS and Well Done!

Thanks, Judy. Baby shower went well. DD was thrilled with the album. It was a hit at the shower. I actually found it quicker to do the pages without photo's. I know that sounds strange. I just thought of what kind of photo's I would like to see on the page and went from there. Last night at the hospital she asked me about hidden photo's. She said they had some she wanted in the book, but didn't want just anyone to see. I told her "I can do that." I just love a challenge. Sandy

Thanks. When I asw the motherhood line from Karen Foster aat the LSS I knew I had to use it. The LSS borrowed the first two pregnancy LO's when I finished them in the store for display. Sandy

Thanks. That's a great idea. I'm going to start looking for some. I really didn't want any more paper on the page, but if I could find some baby type brads or even hearts I think it would work. I really love that saying. My older DD got a copy from me for GD's album she is working on, and two of DD's friends who are also pregnant asked for a copy at the shower. Isn't it wonderful how we all share and pass on the ideas? Sandy

I actually saw my first one on the two peas website. I had problems getting started wrapping the diapers before I came up with the idea of using a roll of toilet paper for the center of the two biggest layers and tying a string around it. I just kept wrapping the stirng over the diapers as I added them to the circle. The big ribbon covers the string. I had done one of these years ago for a baby gift for a friend, but back then we used baby blankets, receiving blankets, sleepers, etc. to make the cakes. Sandy

Thanks Andrea. DD had actually asked me to make the album. She didn't want just a traditional baby book, but wanted to incorporate the album and book together. When I saw the one Karen had done I scraplifted the idea and started to work. Now I wish I had done this for my own children. I did save all of the computer work I had done for the album as I knew when I did this one I was going to have to do one of each of the grandchildren from now on. She loved the album when she saw it. When I was at the hospital last night she had it with her. She said the nurses at the hospital all looked at it and were asking where she got it. They said they couldn't believe someone made it. (Really made me feel good) Sandy

Thanks Marilyn. I wasn't sure about doing an album without pictures either. But, once I got started I found it was really easy. DD and Pat actually said that by looking at the album pages first they were able to think ahead about some of the first photo's they wanted to capture. Sandy
