I'm back and Thank you NSSSF!!!!!

I am back from our trip to the Smoky Mts. - What a beautiful place! After our 2 yo screamed (yes screamed not cried) for 129 miles straight it was so wonderful to come home to a package from my NSSSF Kenda! Thank you, thank you, thank you! She made a beautiful card that she stamped and used a technique I am dying to find out how she did it- very pretty! She sent me my favorite- metal embellishments. Corners and frames, eyelet quotes, eyelet phrases, some pretty yellow and blue magic scraps too! More goodies- lots of fun and like I said it was a nice treat after a long drive (345 miles total). Thank you again!

I haven't read any messages yet- will go though them soon but I wanted to thank Kenda asap!

I'm so glad you liked the goodies Lori! I'm glad they were a pick me up....sorry the baby was so unhappy on the drive home. Hopefully he's back to his cheerful self soon!

Agreed, tho I haven't been there for several decades. Must go back sometime.

If you were at a higher than normal altitude or going up & down the mountains, you might want to check your for an ear infection or congestion in the ear.

I wouldn't have thought of that, but it sure makes a lot of sense. I had a son who had tubes in his ears almost continuously from the age of 10 months till 6 or was that 7!

Thanks for the thought, I took him to the doctor Friday and had them checked because he was still screaming. She said nothing is wrong with him! She checked his throat, nose, eyes, stomach, legs, arms poked and prodded and said "terrible twos". She said since he is fine at pre-school it is a power struggle. Ahhh I think I need a valium :)

Ah you poor thing! Terrible twos. I remember those as the best year to pretend that you've lost your hearing!

My son was about 2 1/2 and he was just a bear for about 2 weeks straight. Finally, we were in a restaurant and my husband got really close to him to have a talk and my son punched him full on in the nose. I thought that's it we're going to the doctor. He didn't have any of the earache symptoms, but I just didn't know what to do. She checked him all over and said you know what he's getting his 2 year molars and they are the most painful teeth of all. She also gave me a pamphlet on "time outs" I had never heard of them. So, gave him some tylenol and some time outs and he gradually became his cheerful self. Hang in there. They just can't tell us what's going on yet.

Thanks Lynne for the encouragement!!! Your poor husband - in a restaurant even! Kids! I can use it right now!

I think you are right- ignoring him is the best so far! What worries me is they say how bad or good they are at 2 is how they will be as a teenager...

I know that's not always true! My DS was a bit of a pill at 2 and he was never a horrible teen. Other than the terrible twos he has always been kind and sharing and well behaved. So there is hope.

Just remember that even good kids have their spirts of being naughty. I know this isn't much help but I hope that it is a little reassuring. Hugs s
