Newbie In Ur Group

Hello, my name is Sharyn. I am a newbie-somewhat scrapper ok, I been doing it off and on for a year. I have done maybe 20 pages since I started last July. I get real busy with it some months and some months my brain just doesnt click enough to get it done. I have alot of supplies I have gotten for particular pages but not got them done yet. I am working on one of my companys trucks, Kitten's Trucking. The company is no longer in business (the ex got it in the divorce). I'm having a hard time with it, cant find much to deal with trucking that I like enough to use on those pictures. And I am working on a general every day album. I cant put any of them on the internet because I journal completely and dont want to risk anything happening I might later regret. I live in Central Ohio, in probably the prettiest part of the state, we have a HUGE state park close by, lots of pretty pictures to scrap in the winter time. I am married to a stubborn mule of a man. (Yeah he knows I call him that). I have 5 grandkids, 2 boys and 3 girls. My world revolves around them most of the time. Especially the oldest and the youngest of the 5. They seem to want to be around Nana/Mamie the most. One calls me Mamie (youngest) and the other calls me Nana. I do alot of scrapping of my animals also. They are 3 adopted mutts that the people were sending to the pound and I couldnt see that happening. I have a kitten I adopted the same way. If there is anything you wanna know that I didnt include, let me know and I will respond to it. I am hoping to make some friends and learn some new ideas. My next new project, one Im working on now, is card making. I got all these cards laying here and never done anything with em, so its time to learn that skill. With that all said, I will talk to you again soon Im sure. Sharyn

Welcome to the group, Sharyn. I'm sure you will enjoy this group and everyone here is friendly. There is never a lack of ideas or help. I'm not a card maker, but there are several on the group. I can identify with the grandkids, I have seven myself and two new ones on the way. Sandy From the neighboring state of Indiana.

Thank you Sandy, I seen the good ideas when I first downloaded the messages that I recvd. I got several written here on this peice of paper I keep at my desk just for good ideas. I used to live in Fort Wayne, IN a few years back when I was married to my ex. We left Ohio to move there because we couldnt get along in Ohio. A few years later his ex got stupid when it came to his visitation and we moved back to Ohio and ended up split up a few months later. We just couldnt make it in Ohio. LOL. He was always a free spirited kinda guy and I dont know if Ohio stifled that or what. I know he is living in another state now, 5 years after we split up so maybe it was just him. :S Thanks again for the welcome. Sharyn

Hi Sharyn! I was just in your neck of the woods! I live in Springfield and used to live in Dayton... I've lived in Columbus too.. I just spent a day in Hocking Hills taking pictures... I used to drive truck myself too! Welcome to SBA! I'm going to have a crop at my house here in the fall and you are more than welcome to attend! I'll post when I do it. There is a hotel right across the street from me that is inexpensive (and not real cheezy) and whoever calls dibs first gets my guestroom. I've gotten to crop with Amy and she is a real sweetie! (and now addicted to fibers, and if she gets up here will have a nice stash because I'm thinning out.. AHEM).. LOLOL

Welcome Sharyn! I know you'll just love this group of talented ladies and gentleman. Seems that if you scrap you will most likely fall into card making. Not sure how that happens though. I orginally thought of it as a great way to use up my scraps! LOL but NOOOOOOO I find myself buying stuff because it will "make a great card"! LOL So glad you joined us.

Cool, I will be looking forward to it. I would love the chance to get back up there. Seems like I never have the time to do much of anything these days. Something is always going on that prevents me from doing what I want to do.But thats life sometimes. ;) Sharyn

Well I used to make my own cards before using the computer before I found scrapbooking. Now I got all these neat little things and can make them even better so heres hoping I can get that talent added to my list of talents. I dont do the really exotic (maybe wrong word) scrap pages for my books, but I do what comes from the heart at the moment. I have yet to redo a single page so that says something for them I guess. I also like looking back at the early ones (last year) and see how far I have come with it. Someday soon, I am going to venture into using the computer more for my scrapping. My home is to small for all the supplies I seem to gather up. My sister and I been talking about having a little shanty built just for our scrapping, out here where I live. I think that is the best option going right now. Of course, I gotta get the money and the time and well the list goes on......lol Sharyn

Hi and Welcome Sharyn to RCS from one of the FEW ADMITTED Male Picture Placers out here - LOL!! I am a former Buckeye myself. real family was from Dayton/Sydney area, grew up, err, went to school arond Mt Vernon area and adopted family was from Portsmouth. Ronni-Jean even has a piece of my real family history she rescued orfound in dayton.

Anyhow you say yo don't have enough room for all you are acquiring, oh you are so in trouble!! one of the "unwritten" rules we go by in here is to ENABLE, ENABLe, ENABLE to the point that all either become a Flozie or a Flass!!! LOL!!

So warn your dh and he may be even inducted or is that induced!! LOL!!

LOL, my hubby isnt being real nice about all that I have acquired. My scrapping area is the one whole wall of the living room, under my desk, around my desk, on the shelves, whereever I can put it. But hopefully as I said someday I will have my little scrap shanty. It dont got to be real big, well at least not to start out, may have to build onto it later. I just havent gotten around to giving him any idea of what I want out there yet so it aint got much pass the plan of having one in my mind. And its trapped with everything else in there. LOL I love the idea of acquiring even more stuff, I am always looking for great deals on stuff and collecting. Most of what I got now, is spoken for, bought with a page or two in mind when it was gotten. Of course, I aint got much done lately with my scrapping (last month or so) just to much going on. Hopefully after he has his surgery and life gets back to normal (well normal for us) I can get busy cause I got a lot of pics that need scrapped. Thanks for the welcome and if you are ever in this area, let me know I can take ya to some of the prettiest places to take pictures you ever seen. Not to any scrapping stores though, they are all a good ways from here and I hardly get to them. Sharyn

Actually the one museum that is opening here soon has it now... I had an origional barber chair from the Rikes building... but I had nowhere to put it (we were living in a 800 square foot place)... I wanted to give it to Dave but when they put the call out for origional Dayton historical pieces, I called them and they only had one other thing from the origiona Rikes building (big deal here)... and I figured Dave wouldn't mind... so its in storage right now until they open the museum (suppossedly near the origional rikes building!)
