Scrapbooking Schitzophrenia

I'm working on my tags for the tag swap and I haven't done anything like this before. I haven't made tags and I haven't ever done a swap.

So, last night I'm thinking to myself...

"What if nobody likes these? Of course they'll like them you're a crafty person."

"What if someone is offended by my quote? There is nothing offensive about your quote."

"What if the tags need to be a regulation size? Hummm I don't know can the tag be any size I want as long as it will fit nicely onto a scrapbook page? I don't know I'm going to have to get someone else into this conversation."

Regards,

Lynne :)

Sounds to me like your concerns are normal but unfounded...does that make sense?

Any tag size is fine as long as it will fit nicely onto a page....keeping in mind that some people work in 12X12 format while others work on 8 1/2 X 11. Personally I don't see that there is much room to embellish 5X7 pages etc.

As for the quote....who says you have to have a quote but if you do....If you like it...go with it. Make sure that it's interpretation can not be misunderstood.

Will they like your tags........I'm sure your tags will be lovely. My tags for the last swap were very simple but in the grand sceme of things, I think they were OK. Better than passable but not as good as some of the others in my opinion BUT...I keep in mind that I am very critical of my own work(as most of us are).

If you fret too much about the swap you won't enjoy it.....just go with it and enjoy! BTW....I didn't sign up for this tag swap. Susan

Lynne, You'll get over those first time jitters when you see what you get in return :) I really fretted about my tags for the swap here on RCS and once they came back and I saw just what talent we all had, I felt at ease. as well when i did the recipe page swap. (which reminds me... looking at the BBQ pages, some ladies didn't leave their names on them so I'm unsure who sent a couple of them LOL)

You'll do just fine :)

Lynne, I'm right there with you. I signed up for the quote swap and all four months of the tag swap. This is my first time to participate and I have the same concerns. I like my quote but I haven't put them together yet. I have some ideas for the tags but sometimes ideas in your head don't come out the way you want. I think my lack of time right now and having the pressure of the deadline approaching is the biggest concern. Just get them made and they will be fine. I'm sure we will love them. I hope to work on my quote today and this weekend.

Hi Myra,

Now that I'm fully immerced in making the tags I'm having a really good time. All the ideas you talked about I had them too. Seeing them coming together and tweaking some of them as I go is fun. Although I'm thinking the first tag I finished I'm going to have to put a note on it saying return "this one" to me, since it's my prototype and I don't like it as much as the others. It's pretty darn cute though. Who knows maybe once I get all the pieces cut out I'll have time to make extras.

It could happen! :D

Don't stress Lynne! You'll do fine. I had 'first time' jitters too, but remember we're all a lot more crictical of our own work than anyone else. Get through the first swap, and you'll be okay... you'll be hooked... I promise!!! :-)
