OT: Great weekend

We spent the weekend with family, celebrating Bill's sister and brother-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday and carried the festivities over to another family gathering on Sunday. All our children were there and 7 of the 9 grandchildren. The the weekend was complete with the chance to take a tethered ride in a Hot Air Balloon.I wish we could have taken an untethered ride but it was to late in the day do go up before sunset. One of Bill's nieces and her husband are licensed balloon pilots. They brought their balloon to the second days festivities, inflated it and gave all who wanted to try a short ride. I've always wanted to go up in one and finally has a chance to see what it's like. I've been promised a real ride in the spring. Juno

What a fantastic weekend you had! There are lots of adventures still on my Bucket List, I probably won't get around to all of them. Ticking off the hot air balloon ride had to have been on yours.

That sounds like an **amazing** weekend!!!!! I'm so thrilled for you that you got to see and be with everyone!

We spent part of our weekend finalizing plans and making reservations for our trip to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We are going to Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands in January. Yes, well past our anniversary (Sept. 21.) BUT when it's cold, snowy, possibly icy here.......we will be on the beach in the sun. Beach that looks like this:

Oh Juno, May I come visit the day of the balloon ride? I'd love to take one, too. When DS worked in Steamboat Springs CO, I spent time there every summer; they had balloon rides every morning just after sunrise, but I was never able to go because of DS's work schedule.

This was a most enjoyable weekend for us, too. My youngest DD, DSIL and their younger son were here from FL, and we had RAIN. Remember we hadn't had any measureable rain since June 24th, so what happens? We received over

3-inches between Saturday & Sunday.

DSIL said that it was okay, that we were not planning on a picnic anyway. Besides, there was lots of football on TV, which he & DS liked.

DGS was busy playing his guitars, for the most part. He brought 2 with him. They are going on to Nashville this week; he has an interview for an internship in the Music Dept. at Belmont U. I heard him mention he will interview at Julliard as well and one other, but I've forgotten which one.

His parents & DS went to our favorite Mexican bakery Sunday morning. While they were gone, he played his Classical Guitar for me; a private concert for Gramma, he said, because I gave him his first professional guitar for his

5th birthday. He's a junior at FL Southern this fall in the Music Dept and has appeared in several plays & concerts.

The older children are both teaching, so could not come at this time and they were missed.

Sorry this is such a long post. Emily

It was a great weekend for you. I always wonderful when family gets together. I'm so glad you were able to spend time with your family. You had real rain, coming out of the sky wet rain. What more can you ask? As to the balloon ride you are more than welcome. They are very willing to take anyone who wants to share the fun with them. There's a ride scheduled for the fall color display, but I will not be able to go on that one. We are going away for a couple of weeks and then I have to start eye drops for the common malady of advanced maturity. I'm scheduled to have cataracts done on the 2nd and 16th of Nov. After that we plan our last Cape trip for Thanksgiving. Jac and Jim are having dinner for whoever in the family can make it. I've put in my request to go ballooning in the spring. Juno
