OT: I just have to brag a bit

My youngest daughter Jac, just found out that she has complete her certification program in Sp Ed with a 4.0. All that left now is for her wait for her dual certification certificate in Sp Ed grades 1-8 and pre K -6. Jac leads a very busy life with 2 very active boys ages 9 and 12 and her husband who travels frequently for his job. Her credits will also go as credit toward her Masters Degree. I'm a very proud mom. Juno

Outstanding. It takes special people to teach special ed. I know of two men who do it, and do it well. I must admire them. I couldn't do it myself.

Thank you all. I shall pass your messages along to her. I know she will be a great teacher. For the past 5 years she also works full time, in the elementary school her boys attend, as a teaching assistant in Sp ED and first line sub teacher in all grades. She is a natural and has a great way getting through to children. Her boys are extremely well behaved. It's a pleasure to be with them and especially to sit down at dinnertime with them. They will sit and carry on a conversation and not jump up as soon as they finish eating. I know, I'm the mom and grandmother, but they are a beautiful family. Juno

I'm proud with you! How I envy those women who have enough energy to do all that career stuff and still raise kids at the same time. I guess you did a great job on raising her. Congratulations!

Thanks Ursula, I have 2 daughters who have gone on to advanced education with children. Mom, that's me, also went back to college to finish and get a college degree. None of us tried to do it when our children were very young. We all felt that to be impossible. Our children have had to be in school full time. We all also felt we had to arrange our schedules to give the children the bulk of our attention. You can't hurry these things. Jac gave up a very good job in a college when her oldest son was born, so that she could spend his early yeas with him. She didn't go back to work or school until she was sure her youngest son was well settled in school full time. Juno
