OT: it's my story and I'm sticking to it

Hey All,

Thought I'd better give an update on what's what over here. ;)

The house here is still on the market. But we have some folks coming back for a second look later in the week. That's encouraging!!!

The new house... We close this week on the new house in Springdale!! (Pat, I'm sorry I didn't have time when I made my flying trip out there to hunt to get a hold of you. I will let you know as soon as we're out there this time though!!) Found a lovely house in Springdale. It's close to a park. It's in a cul-de-sac, which means the kids can still ride their bikes. (maybe to the park once I study how much traffic there is on the road over there; this will be good for Mom's legs/butt too!!!) 3 bedrooms, with an office area, a "bonus" room off the laundry that will be a perfect sewing room. And even an office type room off the garage that DH can use for his stuff. ;) The lot is better than a half acre, which to us is huge, since we're used to barely 1/4 acre lot. ;) 2 & 1/2 baths, very cool. And a fenced yard for Charlie Dawg.

Best of all, the kitchen is HUGE. 12' x 27' counting the dining area. (eat in kitchen, which I love!) Ceramic tile in the kitchen, baths, laundry and what will be my sewing room. And y'all know I don't like carpet in my sewing room so that's perfect for me. The kids are excited about the ceramic tile because that means they can "socky skate" in there really well. Y'know? Slide around in socks like they are Olympic medallists. heh heh

Perfect front porch for sitting and watching the world go by. :) And best of all, the perfect spot in front of the porch, and around the corner for a flower bed. Whoo hoo!! Know what else?? They didn't do much landscaping. Just a few trees here and there plus grass. No shrubs, no flowers, etc. Know what that means?? I don't have to dig out their stuff to put in my own. Yay!!! I've been planning it in my head a while now. ;)

Looks like the movers will be here around the 15th of July. Then we will take off that weekend and drive out there. I don't know when I will be online again after that. But I will sing out when I get "back."

I haven't had time to do anything with the yahoo group for cleaning out my stash. I'm probably just going to take it down for now. That worked really well though and helped me get rid of a bunch of stuff. (and send it to good homes!!!) If those of you who adopted stash have time, let me know what you ended up doing with it. :)

That's about the size of it all. I will be cleaning today, showing the house here tonight. Cross your fingers!!!! Think good "sell the house" thoughts for me. ;)

If your color scheme can handle it, put bunches of yellow silk flowers around.... very welcoming color.

Well.....my birthday was last week. DH and both kids gave me flowers. So my dining room looks like a flower shop right now. ;) I will remember that though when these ones start to wilt. Thanks!

I have been making lemonade and setting out a plate of cookies for the realtors and their clients. ;) That seems to be going over really well. I just remembered how much I would have loved a snack when I was out house hunting. I know it won't sell the house, but it will make them remember the house. ;)

Sharon, Good thoughts are winging their way from here to help sell the house. DS and family in SC are putting their house on the market this month, too, but they are not leaving the area, only building a new home with a riding area for DGD, who loves her horses. When she gets on the phone, she tells me all about it--know how 6-year olds can talk. Emily
