OT: Rebekah

please keep my little one in your thoughts if you are so inclined. She has been ill for a while now and they still aren't sure what it could be. At first her doc thought it was a virus, but it didn't go away. Now he thinks she has reflux, but she can't see the "specialist" for that until the 15th. Until then, we are trying to get her to take bottles with a Tbsp of rice cereal mixed in, the thought being that the cereal will help control the tummy acids.

Thanks

Larisa

P.S. Last night we finally got a full night of sleep in 5 days.....up until then, we've been running on 3 hours a night. However, Tom is doing great as a helper, and Ken is learning how not to get sick when one of his children is. Me....well, I'm the mom, so I'm holding up as best as I can, and breaking down to the group and in the garage (where the kids can't see or hear me)

Oh Larisa, of course. Prayers and thoughts for your little one.

Sometiems having even a little bit of information is comforting, so I did a quick web search on reflux in infants and found these:

You are coping (which is marvellous in the circumstances), and we are here to scream at any time you like!

Have ((((((((((ENOUGH HUGS TO GO ROUND)))))), and hang on in there!

When they DO see her, if she's 'on the bottle', get a check for hypercalcemia... I was like her at that age, and the calcium in the formula was something I couldn't metabolize. It's a long shot, as formulas have changed a lot in the last 47 years, but might at least be worth asking about!

Larisa, your Rebekah will be in my prayers and in my thoughts, as will you.

Could she be lactose intolerant? My daughter was hospitalized at 6 weeks because they couldn't figure what was wrong with her, turned out to be the cow's milk in the formulas.

so far today, she has tolerated 2oz of pedialyte and 10oz of Isomil Soy formula with a tablespoon of rice cereal added to it.

Hoping that she does as well tomorrow

Larisa

P.S. Thank you for the links, information, and thoughts and prayers
