OT: All Clear! Off Topic

Warning: OFF TOPIC!

My DH had two MRIs done last week (head and neck) and a neurology appointment today. Neurologist was VERY happy with his lack of progress (this is good...nothing has changed) and his response to drug treatment. As well, the head MRI was completely clear; his brain is completely normal. The neck MRI images were rather dark but appeared to be within normal. So no disc degeneration (yet, anyway). Written reports on both MRIs due Friday, but no surprises expected. Unfortunately, we still have no explanation as to what caused some type of swelling in his brain last year and has resulted in migraines that were almost permanently present (hence the drug treatment, which keeps them at bay).

HUGE relief......had to share....thanks for listening :)

Michelle

P.S. It has to be said: Should we be surprised that they found a brain in his head at all?? :P

Michelle, glad to hear that the MRI gave you good news. I think it's harder to be the worrier than to be the patient, so maybe this will give you a little relief now.

A short while, I guess. And it HAD to be said, right? :)

Oh, he was pretty worried too. It's much more than a 'little' relief, too; this is now about 20 months since anything has happened.

Wouldn't you be? :) They showed us all the MRI shots.....what a complex, amazing thing the brain is. I was speechless while we were looking at them.

Yes, Noreen, truly a blessing. I pray the same thing!

Oh, I DO NOT have a warped sense of humour, I DO NOT ....NOT....right? .....right?.....what, nobody agrees? :) Maybe I'm just warped in general.....DH was cracking jokes as the neurologist went through the dozens of shots, saying 'normal....normal....normal' so I think HE's warped too. Really it was all rather anticlimactic as we went in expecting bad results, med changes, even hospital admission and came out with no changes and some encouragement from the doctor (actually, lots of encouragement from the doctor).

It did, indeed! And we have to laugh at our ailments, or we would crack, right?

Dear Michelle I'm very glad for you that there seems to be no damage..... and I can empathize. I've only in the last year begun to experience migraine headaches and while I'm sure mine aren't nearly as bad as your DH's, migraines are an awful thing to have. Hopefully they have found medications that help him.

Sending hugs your way! Shelagh
